do you ever have that one person who you just lost contact with because of reasons and you just wonder if they’re okay and what they’re doing with their lives now and where they’ve been and if they’ve changed and how they’ve changed and what’s still the same about them and how they look and if they ever think about you like that from time to time

It sounds crazy but one of my favourite parts about Japan was stationery shopping.

There were aisles filled with a rainbow array of pens and markers at ridiculously low prices. With my favourite Pilot pens priced at 105 yen (which is like $1.30AUD), I may have bought um, about fifteen?  And the erasable Pilot Frixion ballpoint pen I bought has definitely proven handy.

Winry listened to him carefully as he spoke about candy, enjoying the fact that he loved sweets as much as she did. The girl paid the person behind the counter the amount she owed, giving them a smile as she did so. 

She blinked as Russet almost ran out of the shop as she grabbed her bag, sighing as she tried to catch up with him. They began walking at a good pace once again and she looked over to him as he began to speak about the bakery. 

"Do not feel like you need to buy us things, Russet! I would not want you spending anymore money on me. It was already kind enough that you paid for my candy.." She spoke, giving him a meek smile. 

Her face lightened up as he offered her his bag, and she plucked one sweet from it, offering her bag in return.

He paused, nodding after a moment. "Sorry, I've just been caught up a bit," he murmured, "I just forgot how it was to be around someone when we weren't all on edge."

He looked a bit taken back when she offered her bag. Carefully pulling out a bar, he unwrapped it, taking a small bite out of the chocolate. He swallowed before he spoke. "Let's go back to the apartment, I can show you the things I make."

Winry was pleased to see Russet picking out different types of candies and placing them into a bag. She picked out a few peppermints as well. After she picked out the right amount, she placed her bag next to his and let out a soft giggle as he commented on her treats. “Yes! They’re my favorites.” She blinked as he spoke about his favorite type of candy. 

"Candy Floss..?" She asked softly, "I have never heard of it."

"They're soft, some people said it's like eating a cloud," he said with a soft beam, opening his bag to pop a jawbreaker into his mouth. "Those're four shillings, I think..." he looked over at the person behind the counter, who simply nodded.

"I'll have you try some candy floss when I manage to get them!" Russet was much too excited at the prospect, obviously he really liked his sweets. "Or ice cream—although it's a bit costly to get, but it's tasty."

He almost shot up and ran out of the shop when the blonde had finished paying, calming down a bit before he suggested they go to the bakery next. "I don't know if I can afford them," he said, frowning, "They're usually a bit costly, but the smell of baking bread's nice and they're really good if you can get them." He extended his bag to her after a moment, offering for her to try confectioneries that were inside it.
