FFXIV Write 2024 #30 - Two Heads Are Better Than One
Summary: Wuk Lamat goes to visit Beau, and finds her in the thick of things.
Content Warnings: None
Spoilers: Dawntrail
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wuk Lamat stretches her arms and yawns as she walks along the docks that connect the For’ard Cabins. She figures if she got up early enough, she could attend to some of her personal items before the work of being the Vow of Resolve took over her day.
And today, she wants to visit Beau.
Approaching the door to her cabin she happily knocks. It is only then that she realises that her early morning may be too early for Ar’beunti. The damage already done, Lamat stands by the door for a few moments to see if the door would be answered.
FFXIV Write 2024 #28 - Deleterious
[Note: A semi-sorta sequel to my Prompt #9 - Lend an Ear. Might not make as much sense without it.]
Summary: Beau reflects on her failed plan after returning from Mt. Gulg.
Content Warnings: Suicidal Ideation
Spoilers: Shadowbringers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I’ll be right behind you. I just need a moment,” Beau says to Lehon’a, both having finished their conversation with Ardbert. Ardbert had vanished, leaving the two alone to reflect on the events that had just transpired.
The last thing they remember is being atop Mt. Gulg, having collapsed from the light overtaking them. The Exarch taken by Emet-Selch.
FFXIV Write 2024 #27 - Memory
Summary: Ar'beunti and Lehon'a talk about the Crystal Exarch. Beau has a hard time remembering something related that Lehon'a brings up.
Content Warnings: None
Spoilers: Shadowbringers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having just recently woken up back in the Crystarium, the two Warriors of Darkness walk about the city, getting a sense of how its citizens are holding up. During this walk, Beau and Lehon'a have a brief chance to chat.
“So… were you going to tell us you knew the Exarch's name?” Beau asks, her hands in her pockets. Lehon'a feels the awkwardness in the air.
FFXIV Write 2024 #26 - Zip
Summary: Beau and Wuk Lamat finally get a moment to relax.
Content Warnings: None.
Spoilers: Dawntrail.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun set on the city of Tuliyollal. Ar'beunti sat in her beach chair at the top of the steps to the Arterial Climb, just outside the palace.
“Ha! I told you I'd only be a moment, and then here I find you having staked a claim with these chairs,” Wuk Lamat says as she comes up behind Ar'beunti. Beau turns her head to look at Lamaty’i.
“I knew I'd have time and this way we can sit comfortably as the sun sets.”
“There are chairs in the palace, you know.”
“And I did also say comfortably.” Beau gives the vacant beach chair one big solitary pat, gesturing for Lamaty’i to take a seat. She does as instructed with a shake of her head.
FFXIV Write 2024 #25 - Perpetuity
Summary: Ar'beunti and Urianger find a moment of calm.
Content Warnings: None
Spoilers: Endwalker
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Does thou wonder how many eyes look up at us, just as we look down at them?”
Beau cocks her head as she takes in Etheirys in all its beauty. The view from the moon is definitely one of a kind.
“Not that they could see us from up here,” Beau answers simply. Urianger smiles as he dips his head.
“Yes. That may be so, just as we too cannot make out a single soul from where we sit.” He looks back to the star. “Though it is no less true that they look this way regardless.”
FFXIV Write 2024 #24 - Bar
Summary: Beau goes to the bar after a very long adventure. Gets some unwanted company
Content Warnings: Indirect Transphobia
Spoilers: Endwalker
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The star is safe. The Final Days are now behind the people of Etheirys.
And Beau could use a drink.
It is fairly late at Mehryde's Meyhane, and very quiet. The people celebrating have gone home, leaving a handful of solitary individuals, nursing their drinks. Beau is one of them.
She has much to think about. What to do with herself now that there are no more wars, people to save, or evil to defeat. She had thrown her life on the line multiple times in the last few days, and somehow she came out of it all alive. Facing the Endsinger, then Zenos, alive is the last thing she expected to be after all was said and done.
