As much as I wanted to see another one last kiss, but damn the lack of it this ep actually crowned Starco as the best of the best couple in the entire Disney franchise. This is what true love actually is, it’s not about smooching your boy/gal, it’s the desire to stay and be together with your loved one above anything else. You can tell Starco already has all the four kind of loves in their relationship, including the belated Eros (which people seem to be more concerned about) and that’s why their relationship is superior to a lot of other established couples. Starco needs to be canon (e.g becoming a romantic couple) not because the fanbase demands it, but it needs to be canon in order to complete the four types of love in their relationship and making it final that being with each other is what makes them the happiest, and that can’t happen if it all ends with them having romantic feelings with other people and not each other. It will just break the point and make their relationships with the other people unfair and unbelievable.

Starco is cliche. More like Starco finally does the ‘True Love’ trope right. And this kissless series finale (after they already kissed and became a couple prior) is the proof that they are meant to be seen as more than just two teenagers in love (a mere ‘cute’ ship between two opposite gendered main leads) but partners, in every sense of the word. Life partners whose simple desire to stay together are meant to last for a lifetime, something the show has been trying to make a point multiple times since the beginning.

LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK

Great post, perfectly explains why the lack of more conventional romance in the series finale doesn’t invalidate the “Eros” from Here to Help in the slightest, and why the finale went for the purest, simplest form of love between Star and Marco, a generic, unbelievably strong desire to be together.

Obviously I’d retroactively pay questionable amounts of money to have a kiss during the final shot of the show, but that’s personal bias / eye candy speaking. What we got was an outstanding way to conclude Star and Marco’s story, and show us that Starco has all the elements to last as long as they’ll live, all of them.
