none of this absolves doctors of the truly horrendous things they say and do to patients, but it's important to acknowledge that rather than every doctor being coincidentally a bad person, there is something specific about this field and career path that gives rise to such high prevalence of ableist attitudes

Language matters. Try 'active genocide' and 'deliberate starvation'.
Honestly find it more than a little annoying the Starbucks boycott has gotten so much attention despite not being on the BDS list at all, even as a non-targeted boycott. And don't get wrong: fuck Starbucks, don't buy their shit, but also make sure you're boycotting the things that are, y'know, actually a target of BDS.
Also a lot of the info about why Starbucks is being boycotted is flat-out wrong, sorry. They aren't giving out free drinks to IOF soldiers because they don't operate in "Israel" at all and haven't since 2003. The calls for a boycott arose from them suing Starbucks Workers United for using their logo in a statement supporting a ceasefire. Exceptionally shitty move? Yeah. But in terms of specifically targeting companies that directly profit from the genocide of Palestinians Starbucks isn't one of them at all.
Anyway here's the list of companies on BDS' current list. Do not stop boycotting Starbucks if it's developed organically in your community, but make sure you're aware of the companies that are being specifically targeted for directly investing in Palestinian genocide:

Palestinian liberation calls for a 1 state solution under which all people are equal under both under the law and in practice.
In order to have peace the genocide, apartheid, and occupation must end. Settler colonialism must end. Second class citizenry must end. All Palestinians imprisoned must be released. Reparations must be made to Palestinians who have been affected by both current events and historical, from the Nakba in 1948 to today. Everyone who participated in the facilitation of the apartheid and the violence of the apartheid and occupation required to maintain the oppressive regime must be held accountable. Palestinians must be granted the right to return to their homes.
The idea that Palestinian liberation = carrying out a genocide on Israelis is nothing more than baseless, racist, orientalist fearmongering (and, to an extent, pure projection) that serves to justify the current genocidal regime and the apartheid having been maintained for decades. One people's freedom does not threaten another people. People are fearmongering over a hypothetical scenario (the same fearmongering used in South Africa; both during the reconstruction era following the abolition of slavery & also against abolitionists while slavery was still legal in the United States; in regards to the North American indigenous population; and so on) while an actual genocide is going on.
the only way to real actual peace, safety, and security is through the complete liberation of the Palestinian people, not the continued maintenance of the current regime or the apartheid that led to this current moment in time. apartheid is inherently violent; oppression is inherently violent. colonialism is inherently violent. if YOUR 'safety' is dependent on the oppression, displacement, and murder of OTHER PEOPLE then your conditions are not and will never be safe.
When Palestinian children are being kept in jail, watching their abductors inflict unending abuse until murdering their fellow hostages, I wonder what sort of compromises you expect us to make with this state that is so against our existence.

Yes I don't think there's salvaging a system that has been imprisoning children and adults with no charge and no mercy. This happened before Netanyahu, has happened under Netanyahu, and will continue to happen after Netanyahu. Our liberation is not dependant on a couple bad actors we can pin the blame onto — it requires an abandonment of the system that profits off of and enjoys Palestinian suffering.

I want to drill this into everybody’s head:
The United States of America has the highest prison population in the world
Black Americans and Latin people make up the majority of this population (many of whom are non-violent offenders)
Federal Prisons in America require that their state keeps their prisons at a maximum occupancy at all times.
The 13th amendment did not entirely abolish slavery…just one form of it. It remains legal through industrial prison system
Oh and we have privatized prisons which allow companies to actually make money off of keeping people incarcerated
Here’s what’s really perverse: prisoners, who cannot vote, still get counted in the U.S. Census. The more prisoners a county has, the more representation it gets, even though the prisoners cannot vote. See how that works? The more black and brown people they lock up, the more government resources and political representation they get. Even though those prisoners have no say and cannot vote.
If county-A has a population of 50 voters but no prisons, and county-B has a population of 50 voters and 50 prisoners, the county with the prisoners gets more government funding and more political represention. This is sometimes called “prison gerrymandering” and it is used in redistrictring.
Not so fun Fact: Southern states that reliably vote for Republicans also have the highest prison population in the United States. (source). So mass incarceration is a double whammy. It’s both a form of voter suppression and a tool to strengthen white people’s political power.
The rising tide of hate crimes against Palestinians demands our immediate attention and action to protect and stand by our community.

At this point smartphones, laptops, and other similar devices are necessary for daily life in the US. Like if I did not have a phone and a laptop, I couldn't hold down a job, it would be extremely difficult to access public transportation, my education depended upon my ability to access the internet, etc. Tech companies know that their products are indispensable. So do they make products that last? No of course not, they need you buying a new device every two years. That just makes sense under capitalism. But ofc this system spreads far beyond our borders; this system of planned obsolescence is supported by the plunder of the global south for lithium (like in Bolivia) and cobalt (like in Congo).
The imperialist extraction of resources could be challenged if, say, we could repair a device rather than needing to purchase a new one. Companies like apple know this, and have gone out of their way to make such things impossible just to continue making shit products for too much money. It sucks!
