a sketchy comic with my goofy handwriting- paraphrased from a conversation overheard in space marine 2. i love my little guardsmen... its cute how hype they get when you show up T0T
Just lovely!
When one of the non augmented humans wants to get mb's attention without putting their feed device on they just say 'ping' out loud. And it works
It's on preservation and one of its presaux humans has a cold and is laying facedown on the floor in misery and just says out loud "SecUnit will you order me McDonald's" and when it arrives twenty minutes later just says "thank you" and then the microwave beeps
So for my game class at school we have milestones we need to hit as a team. Weāre making a game over a year so we need feedback and check ins. We sit before panels of teachers across various disciplines and speak about our project and our plans. Thereās artists, programmers, designers, etc.
One of these people is a French woman with an exceptionally calm demeanor. Sheās professional and reserved, asking pointed questions. During our first milestone, she was asking about our games combat mechanic. She said, āWill anything special happen when the player does a combo?ā
āWeāre not sureā, we said. āItās a lot of extra work and we want the core mechanics to be very solid first.
She nodded thoughtfully and said in her posh French accent, āDonāt discount something cheesy, it can be very fun. When I worked on Mortal Kombat there was nothing more satisfying than-ā and here her voice dropped to a guttural growl- āfinish him!ā
youāre too sexy to be poor this isnāt right
Iām always saying this
I gotta say, one of the greatest achievements of my 20s was that I learned (mostly) to differentiate between:
"I truly do not want to go" and
"I'm just feeling the Demand Avoidance, and I will like it once I get there."
I laughed way too hard at this

I LOVE THIS GUY.
All those "spend just 35 minutes doing a bunch of really hard exercises and you'll feel great forever!" videos are really discouraging. I usually end up doing like, 2 minutes of some of his while waiting for my shower to heat up, and ykw?
That's 2 minutes more than I would have done otherwise.
This guy!! He does a lot to lower the barrier for self care; His fitness program is called "It's not exercise, it's just moving around" and he also has a food series called "It's not cooking, it's just mixing stuff"
Those are super helpful to reframe the activity to make it feel more accessible (especially if you've got the perfectionist paralysis type of executive dysfunction)
Last I came across this guy, he was only on instagram and tiktok, but apparently he's on YouTube now, so you can watch his stuff without those particular hellsites.

its so weird to me that cis people will dislike their name so ardently and yet. not change it. you guys know thatās an option, right. no one can make you keep the shit name your mom gave you. no, not even her.
One of my friends in undergrad changed his name because he didnāt want to bear the name of his abusive and absent father. Itās been years since he did it, and he still says that it was the single best decision of his life.
One of my friends in high school changed his named as soon as he turned 18, so that the ethnic name his family gave him was finally the name reflected on all of his paperwork. He told me that he understood why his parents had given him an āEnglishā name, but that he felt that if he needed to assimilate in order to succeed, then that was a type of success that he didnāt want.
When I was on my way home from the courthouse after changing my own name, I got into a conversation with my rideshare driver, who was extremely interested once I told him what I was in court for, and wanted to know how Iād done it, how much it cost, was it difficult, etc. It turned out that his girlfriend had chosen the name āYo-yoā when she came to the United States, unaware of how rare that was as a name, and that she was frequently made fun of because of it. Neither one of them had realized that a name change was so easy, and he told me he was excited to let her know that she had options.
There was an intern at a summer job I had once, who changed her name to be the same name, but a different spelling. She said that she had no idea why her parents had spelled her name so oddly to begin with, and suspected that it was just an honest mistake either by them or by some nurse, but it had been a headache for her entire life, and it was a huge relief to not need to be correcting peopleās spelling on important documents anymore.
One of my exes legally changed his name to have an exclamation point, because he liked to sign his name with an exclamation point.
You can always change your name if you donāt like it. You always have that option. It doesnāt matter why ā it can be conformist or anti-assimilationist, serious or silly, a minor change or a major change. Your name is yours, and you have every right to change it to be whatever you want.
If you are attracted to a girl it's important to show her sinister artifacts and relics
I just think we should all agree to bring back non-ritual hand-kissing as a routine, commonplace gesture for reasons of my own which there's no need to examine right now
