i really wish that i could bless people.
sick? i’ll bless you; you’ll be healthy again soon
depressed? i’ll bless you; you’ll feel better soon
low on funds? i’ll bless you; riches will find you soon
generally a good person? i’ll bless you; fortune will smile down upon you
I will bless you if you ask <3
The closest experience I've ever had to discovering "the vitamin" was buying a 100% wool outfit and wearing it in the winter.
Not only was I not freezing anymore, I was not sweating and overheating either. The horrible sensory nightmare of winter clothes disappeared.
In particular, I bought a pair of wool pants. They were a thrifted pair of fancy dress pants like you would wear at an important office job, and they were easily the most comfortable pair of winter-appropriate pants i'd ever worn. I wore them Every Single Day.
From that point on I realized a lot of my clothes were making me feel bad, and the common thread was polyester. Especially polyester blends.
It's a trap because the polyester clothes are the ones that always feel sooooo silky soft when they are in the store, whereas cotton, linen and wool can feel comparatively rough and scratchy. But when actually wearing them for hours throughout the day, it's the natural fibers that feel more comfortable.
Maybe the secret to sensory comfort is not about the presence of softness, but the absence of overloading sensations. Or maybe the sensory stress and agony is not triggered by texture of the fabric, but by how it breathes and regulates temperature.
Then there's the problem of clothing life span: polyester blends, no matter how soft they seem at first, become rough and scratchy and covered in hard, itchy pills after wearing them 10 or 20 times, whether or not they have been tumble-dried or even washed at all. (I tested it!) Linen and cotton become softer and more comfy the more you wear them, polyester but ESPECIALLY polyester blends become a constant stressor. Polyester blend t-shirts I used to love for their softness now feel bristly and irritating.
So now I'm trying to change my wardrobe to as many natural fibers as possible, and the more natural fiber clothes i have the more I realize that the plastic fibers stress me out. It's so easy to overheat or freeze in them and they're always degrading and becoming less comfortable and it sucks.
If it ain't broke, Trump'll break it. #immigration
First, they insist that they're only going after illegals.
Then, they increase the number of people who they classify as illegals.
It's exactly like Nazi Germany. It's not similar. It's not a slippery slope. It's literally exactly the same.
Friendly reminder he is no longer under trump protection and isnt using his son as a bullet shield anymore. Great time to become a hero that history will immortalize if you happen to be in the area :)
I try and avoid engagementbait when I can but look at his EYES
"But we didn't know--" Yes you did. Actual HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS warned you the orange shitgibbon reminded them of Hitler, and begged you not to support him. You saw the neo-Nazi and other white supremacist flags and tattoos among his friends and supporters. You heard him call neo-Nazis "very fine people." You heard him call immigrants rapists and "vermin" who were "poisoning the blood of our country." You saw him mock the disabled. You heard him brag about getting away with sexual assault. You heard him talk about what a "terrific guy" Epstein was. You heard him say he planned to be remembered as "the president who ruled like a king." You knew EXACTLY what you were voting for.
Been hit with more visuals today..Felt inspired to make another collage for our memories

We live in the dumbest, lamest cyberpunk dystopia possible.
So LA has been — and continues to — protest against ICE. These protests haven’t gotten any smaller or lost any momentum, but social media wasn’t reflecting it.
TikTok users, realizing that the platform/other social media are censoring/deleting/shadowbanning these protest videos, decided to find a workaround.
They’re calling it the LA Music Festival. Ice detention centers and other protest locations are “stages.” The hottest band is Rage Against the Machine. “Here’s what gear you should be bringing to stay safe at the LA Music Festival.”
And it fucking worked.
TikTok has become a proving ground for a lot of new music, meaning lots of labels and organizations have lucrative deals with TikTok to promote their new artists and music festivals. So they absolutely cannot censor the words “music festival” or train the algorithm to ignore it, or they risk endangering that very important revenue.
So now protest videos are flooding feeds again, but it’s the LA 24/7 Music Festival. Truly an incredible timeline we’ve landed in.
i'm not sure why this was posted without the link to the actual GFM but here it is

Roughly 6 months in and the US is already at the ‘full blown concentration camps’ stage.
The scum of the earth have found this post. Block the far right and move on.
Deep in the hazardous and ecologically fragile Everglades, hundreds of migrants are confined in cages in a makeshift tent detention facility
I have been inactive for about 5 years. I felt the calling again recently and it’s no coincidence. The first rising was in COVID, and I’m back again now. I will make a full post later describing the past 5 years in detail but for now, we will bear witness to the tragedies they will soon try to erase.
Universal healthcare is a study from 2020. This number is correct
Universal background checks for gun ownership is a study from 2023. This number is correct.
Sick, maternal, and paternal leave are from a 2017 study. These numbers are correct.
Free childcare is from a 2022 parent confidence rapport. This number is correct.
Minimum wage is fro ma 2021 study. This number is partially correct. This study proposed a $15 min wage and asked whether respondents supported this. 62% were completely in favour. 71% of the respondents who disagreed still support raising the minimum wage, just to less than $15. The total percentage of people in favour of raising minimum wage was therefore 89%.
Free public college is from a 2021 study. This number is correct.
I cannot find a study claiming 73% support for funding social security. I can find a study saying 79% of respondents do not want social security to be reduced in any way.
Wealth tax is from a 2024 navigator study. This number is correct.
These numbers are either correct or too low.

People are so much more sad, and desparate, and lonely than you think. I have had three incidents in the last four months were a technician I was working with was being either dangerously unfocused (we work with high voltage), or just flat out angry with their coworkers, and every time when I just pulled them aside to say hey, this isn't you, you're nice, and you're competent, so something must be up - what can I do to help - they have responded by bursting into tears. One guy was struggling to get his wife moved into a care home, one guy just got served divorce papers, and the other hadn't slept a wink the night before because his daughter had the pukes.
I haven't spent my whole life responding to people being rude, or stupid, or dangerous with knee jerk compassion. It's a new habit. The first time I did that as the lead for my lab, it was because the guy genuinely was so good natured that I knew something had to be off. But the other two times were just me going, alright, lets see if it always goes this well, and so far, it has. I'm almost 30, and I just figured out that the #1 reason people are shitty are because they are going through shit.
I don't think you have, like, a moral obligation to respond to people being jerks with knee jerk compassion. But it has made my life so much easier the last four months that I would recommend trying. For your own sake. Please.
(I'll step off my soapbox now. Enjoy your Sunday.)
“The next suitable person you’re in light conversation with, you stop suddenly in the middle of the conversation and look at the person closely and say, “What’s wrong?” You say it in a concerned way. He’ll say, “What do you mean?” You say, “Something’s wrong. I can tell. What is it?” And he’ll look stunned and say, “How did you know?” He doesn’t realize something’s always wrong, with everybody. Often more than one thing. He doesn’t know everybody’s always going around all the time with something wrong and believing they’re exerting great willpower and control to keep other people, for whom they think nothing’s ever wrong, from seeing it.” ― David Foster Wallace, The Pale King
