man im thinking about your ultimate babies au again, mustve been the many recent asks, anyways im thinking about the part of one of your ealier posts about the au where they grow up and asks about their talents and stuff where the fact that they werent really able to develop them in a place like that
and there really isnt a way to do any of that but then light bulbs flashing in makoto's head, there is someone that can help
so he just brings everyone since theyre all grown up now and well she might aswell actually do her part instead of fucking around asmonokuma
so they go to the security (forgot the name lol) room banging on the door like "hey how about you actually help me this time" makoto probably doesn't want to actually asks for help but if the babies really want their talents then who else to call but the ultimate analyst
imagine the interactions this new woman you dont know is apparently here the whole time and was the one actually controlling the badbear and hes making moves on your dad! how would you feel about that?
(lol i just want to make this naejunko)
Ultimate Babies AU premise - full tag - masterlist
(I'm right there with you; I've been excited for the Naejunko aspect, too. 😁 I was just waiting for the right time, lol.)
I'm going to have this be when the rest of the class has turned thirteen. Thirteen and fourteen.
Like you said, a lot of them haven't had the resources to reach their full potential, and he hasn't really been pushing them as much as some of them thought he should, and someone speaks up. Maybe Mukuro, since she hasn't been much of a complainer or even talker since her fake-crying days. And when she speaks up, a bunch of them agree. Sakura, Byakuya, Mondo...
So Makoto resolves that something needs to change, and unfortunately, there's kind of only one way to do that.
When Makoto goes to ask for her to come out, the first thing Junko does is fling her arms around him and squeeze him tight.
"You kept me waiting," she laments sappily. "I waited so long~..." Abruptly, her tone changes to a more conversational one. "I'm like, thirty now. Do you know what that means, for a supermodel? I'll have to take up acting. Another five years, they'll start casting me as fvckin'...moms. Speaking of!" She lets go of Makoto and makes grabby hands in the direction of the wary flock of teens. "My babies! Gimme, gimme, gimme!"
Makoto holds her back before she can actually grab anyone. "Don't. No touching."
("This is Monokuma?" Leon whispers.)
"Still a little younger than they were last time we met face to face," Junko says, barely trying to break Makoto's hold. "Softer. Sakura definitely isn't benching what she was last time. And I doubt New Toko's complete lack of edge will really connect with a reader base."
"Toko is a brilliant writer, and she didn't ask for your feedback."
"I don't care about a reader base," Toko murmurs under her breath. "All real artists are underestimated by their contemporaries and vindicated by history. Pearls before swine."
"There's no sense of tension or urgency, without her palpable, soul-crushing, bitter loneliness," Junko says with a shrug.
"Or you just can't enjoy fiction if it doesn't hint at real-life suffering," Makoto says wryly.
Junko grabs a fistful of his hair. "Ohhh, I miss getting to see that disapproving look in person. You've really grown into yourself. Something about carrying sixteen babies every day really–"
"We're not talking about that." He maneuvers away from her hands. "I know you've been listening: We need to stretch our legs."
"Oh shoot, and I think I left my house keys in my other bra," she quips.
"It's been over a decade. You must be bored of this school by now."
"Au contraire. I've been quite enjoying the tension of restraining myself from interacting with you so-and-so's directly, and now I finally get to enjoy my dessert. But I do know that you mean. Our babies need bigger toys to play with. Poor Mondo hasn't even ridden a motorbike yet. And me with thirteen birthdays each to make up for!" She sends Makoto a smirk. "Don't worry. Mommy's gotcha covered."
He's feeling a growing dread, at how pleased she looks. "What does that mean?"
"It means, of course I have some presents for you guys! I'm not letting you out of the school, but I can give our teething whelps something new to chew on."
"I really hate it when you do the Monokuma voice."
"I know! And you're gonna hate this more: I have one condition."
"Megalomania?"
"You've gotten better at banter! You really shouldn't pathologize describable behaviors, though, sugar bear. It's soooo unsexy of you."
"What's your condition?"
"Go to dinner with me."
He narrows his eyes. "That's all?"
"Sure! That's all I'm asking."
"I go to dinner with you, they get a way to practice their talents, no one gets hurt?"
"Jeez, are you going to make me beg? Do you know how unladylike it is for me to ask you in the first place?"
The whole time they're having this conversation, the others are watching with wary expressions. It's like a supervillain just walked into the room and started flirting with their dad.
Kyoko is the only one there who knows Junko's name and talent, from reading all the files. (Except Mukuro might. Depends on how the memory stuff has worked out.)
Mukuro deserves a crashout when/if she gets all her memories
Your sister turned you into a baby
Your crush is YOUR DAD NOW
And YOUR SISTER IS TRYING TO DATE HIM (making her your mother?)
This is the silliest danganronpa timeline
Oh, definitely. Already, there's a resemblance between them, so some of the teens have reached the conclusion that Mukuro must be Junko's biological daughter. Hiro theorizes that Mukuro is a younger Junko who Makoto time traveled to save from turning evil, but he doesn't say it out loud.
A lot of them are going to have some layered feelings when the memories from their first life come back. Having to suddenly see Makoto as both the father figure who's always been there for them and the classmate who got stuck with a ridiculously intense challenge and rose to the occasion is disorienting. Some of them had the inklings of romantic connection with him, before the transformation, and now he doesn't and can't feel that way for them at all.
Makoto has already processed and adjusted to all of this, and they get hit with it pretty much all at once. (Except, again, Kyoko, who figured some of it out more gradually.)
"Hiro theorizes that Mukuro is a younger Junko who Makoto timetraveled to save from turning evil, but he doesn't say it out loud."
I already know hes trying to be subtle about it and is absolutely failing. Even funnier would be if it turns into an entire misunderstanding where everyone involved is having a different conversation at the same time.
Makoto: talking about junko
Hiro: timetravel
Mukuro: ultimate solider
And none of them realize until its too late.
Also oh goddddd
The past romances are going to be such a mindfuck for them I almost feel bad.
