Series Summary:

"The Eternals called it the Howling."

A sloooooow-burn take on Series 1-6 (at least), primarily following: a) the relationship between the Doctor and Rose Tyler and b) the impacts of the Bad Wolf and the Time War on all of reality.

Goes slightly AU at POTW, full-on AU at Doomsday (but not in a “Rose stays” or “Doomsday just doesn’t happen” way, more of a make-worse than a fix-it so still quite angsty for a while), and hardcore AU around TSE/JE, but will largely stick to the major events of the episodes and fill in some bits in between.

Fluffy, angsty, hurt/comfort-y, etc.

Cannot promise that each individual fic has a happy ending, but CAN and DO promise that the series as a whole will.

She shut her mouth, and when she turned away from him, he silently cursed this regeneration and his seeming inability to lie to her, or at least not to stumble into the truth so clumsily.

It was just that he hadn’t expected he’d still miss her this much now she was back by his side where she belonged.

Instead, she watched in mild horror as he rubbed his hands together, coating them thoroughly with chapstick.

So having been in online fandom spaces since 1997 (stop laughing at me, @iconuk01 I can hear you! Lol)

I wanted to impart some things I've learned that might be useful, considering some of the behaviors I've noticed in my current fandom.

1. Do not expect a piece of media you did not create to do what you want. Be delighted when it does. But deep expectations will destroy you and your enjoyment.

2. The actors you love do not need you to defend them online. Many of them make more money than the rest of us will ever see. If they're that bothered, they can lawyer up. They do not need you. They are not your little babies. They are grown ass people. I know that's hard because your knee jerk reaction is to jump into the fight. Save yourself the anxiety. Go eat a snack instead.

3. There will always be other fans trying to stir shit for attention. Again. Go eat a snack instead of feeding the trolls. You don't need to feed their toxicity.

4. If a piece of media makes you uncomfortable, sit with that. Think about it. Don't just rag on it as something you hate. Hold it in your hands and think about it.

5. In ten years, you're gonna cringe hard at some of the shit you put online. That's okay. We all do.

6. Your ship is two characters who do not exist in the real world. Debate stuff with other fans. Don't make it personal. Don't be cruel. You're acting like a bad person over something that doesn't exist outside its book/tv show/movie/comic. It's not worth hurting a real person.

7. Have fun. That's the whole point. If it's not fun, re-examine. Make friends. Create content. Enjoy this shit. That's what it's there for.
