Furvilla Suggestions Masterlist 2
Mirror for the forum post.
Some of these suggestions are my own; most are not. I am merely consolidating many suggestions, from many users, into one masterlist. For this reason, some suggestions may contradict each other. Most suggestions carry a number, which indicates how many people requested that very thing (regardless of to what degree of specificity). A suggestion with no number was mentioned by only one user. Most suggestions were copy-pasted word-for-word and edited only for obvious spelling errors or incivility. Once again, suggestions already addressed by mods have been disregarded.
Inventory Improvements
Items that are identical should stack. Two swords at max durability? Stack. Medicines at the same potency? Stack. Two Female Pink Pearls? Should stack. [6]
The inventory is too small. The upgrades should cost FC, not FD; or else they should give out 100 slots each. Inventory upgrade prices should absolutely not escalate the way villager slot prices do, or else escalate much slower. After the first purchase, a mere 20 slots cost as much as a paintie. After that, 25 slots cost more than a paintie. That is absolutely too much. Something needs to change there.[2]
Storage should be infinite. Keep inventory the way it is, but turn storage into an archive with no limit on contents.
Introduce āquicksendā. Similar to quickstock, it allows you to send multiple items to the same recipient at once. [4]
Introduce āquickpotā, for adding multiple to pots to herbalist spots at once.[3]
The Quickstock page should have a link to storage in addition to inventory.
The Quickstock page should display current inventory, stall, and storage usage/capacity above the relevant columns.
The bank should give interest.[2]
Painties and Costumes
Revert paintie rules to "Don't change the species or use special partsā. Do not regulate base usage/redraws etc [27]
Paintie rejection messages are generic and unhelpful. They should be as specific as possible when rejecting a paintie.[9]
Introduce a visual guide, with various examples, of what is and is not acceptable as a paintie, ideally from real rejected painties, including the āfixedā image that was eventually accepted.[6]
Complaints that paintie rules are applied inconsistently [16]
Complaints that paintie rules are difficult to understand [8]
Change the costume museum so that nothing obscures/covers the view of the villager [7]
Hold a contest for the design of a new special species [2]
Hire more paintie mods [3]
Complaints that "paintie" is an unpleasant word. [3]
Costume parts should be their own apparel item [5]
Make costumes available for all species [17]
Allow users to type in a custom "colour" for shifty [6]
Hire more artists [8]
Allow users to submit a note/comment with a paintie [7]
Allow equip/removal of costumes like clothing [6]
Removing a paintie should always refund the FD, regardless of the reason or method of removal[5]
Costumes should not change the colour/variety of a villager. [18]
Allow users to use the basic villager base for a costumed-villager paintie.[2]
Introduce a "realistic" costume that gives villagers more accurate, natural proportions. [3]
Introduce a feral costume [4]
Relax copyright rules in line with parody law [6]
There should be an easier way to ask people if your painties are going to be ok before you submit [3]
Introduce paper-doll style clothing and accessories [29]
Allow users to upload painties for furcash [4]
Allow users to upload painties for minipets [3] (2 expressed that customising minipets is a bad idea)
Costume buffs should apply to whatever career the villager wearing it has [2]
More colour/marking options [16] (2 albino, 7 requests to choose colours from a pallet)
Allow choice of eye colour [18]
Allow choice of pose, facial expression, etc [3]
Introduce a "modify paintie" button. The new file is submitted for no cost and the existing paintie is not removed until the modified version is approved. [4]
Introduce "half-paintie" that costs 50FD and only allows very small alterations like the addition of horns [3]
Allow users to mix costumes. [5] This would be done very simply by a tailor or crafter, similar to the current process of mixing medicines. When mixing, the first costume selected would become the ādominant costumeā. This is how the costume will display on default art, and determines the buff the costume gives. However, mixing two costumes allows the use of both costume themes in the same paintie ā for example, a pirate shark-wolf would need a pirate-aquatic costume.
Allow users to mix special species. [2] An alchemist would do this with two shifting potions. Using the potion on a shifty does not change its form, but instead changes its colour to, for example, Dutch Angel Dragon/Wickerbeast. Again, this allows the use of parts from both restricted breeds at once ā a Wickerbeast with DAD wings, for example.
Allow users to surrender the relevant costume/potion to use special parts in a paintie.[3]
When a paintie is uploaded, users should have an optional box to tick: āI am willing to edit this paintieā. [3] If the paintie is rejected, it is not kicked out of the queue, and the FD is not refunded. Instead it is tagged as ārejectedā and retains its original position. When the artist has made the necessary changes, they can go to the rejected paintie and upload the corrected version, whereupon the paintie jumps to it's previous queue position (IE, near the top). This reduces one of the biggest frustrations with having a paintie rejected: getting kicked out of the queue and having to wait another three days for judgement. Obviously, mods should still have the power to kick it straight out of the queue if it obviously requires very heavy editing (effectively, a complete redo) to become acceptable. This is primarily for āplease reduce the size of the earsā-style rejections.
When a paintie is rejected, there is a āreplyā button which allows users to communicate directly with the mod who did the rejecting. [3]
A pending paintie should display its current queue position. [2] If there are 50 painties above it, it would display as potion 51, so everyone has a good idea of where their paintie is in the queue and how long they should expect to wait for a mod to see it. This will assist everyone: It reduces the number of unnecessary additional submissions (Did mods see it? Is the queue moving? I'll just cancel it and submit again) and the number of emails to staff along the lines of āHey, have you guys seen my paintie yet?ā. It also greatly increases transparency and reduces user anxiety around those issues.
Allow users to reduce their searchability
Introduce settings which allow users to:
Opt-out of painties being in the gallery/on the Town Hall page[3] Disable the āview forum postsā and āview threadsā button on their profile (presumably still viewable to mods)[8] Prevent their villagers appearing in site search results[2] Prevent stall owners from seeing that they purchased something.[4] Make it impossible to view the contents of their stables, menagerie, etc. [6]
Careers
Have warrior charges stack for one hour.[7]
Introduce a career specialisation system (for example, animal handlers can specialise in collecting or taming, and be better at that than an animal handler with no specialisation) [2]
Introduce a way of increasing max warrior charges (common suggestions include levelling up or potions) [3]
Warriors should level up in skill.[4]
Allow option to view more minipets per page. [8]
Reduce the amount of steel required to repair weapons.[2]
Place warriors to the left of enemies in every battle. [4]
If a minipet is already in the menagerie, add an icon indicating that on every other instance of that minipet within inventory/stables [6]
Weapons should not take durability on miss.
Make houses universal/don't restrict house usage based on current inhabited village.
Warriors will be a little unbalanced once the protection quotient kicks back in - it will be almost impossible to train new warriors without screwing the quotient altogether, especially since you have to use the low level things until 25 battles won, and monsters you can't fight with those spawn a good half of the time so you have to run away!
Allow users to rearrange the minipets in stables.[4]
Allow users to remove (but not add) weapons, armour, pots or stables without switching to the relevant career [4]
Introduce a āquicksortā button to stables, which automatically sorts all minipets by species and colour.[4]
Reduce the amount of slabs required to repair houses/pots/stables to less than the amount required to build a new one [3]
The cap on herbalists seems really unnecessary. The total amount of seeds in the game is already limited by the explorer cap.
Add more careers[13] (mostly vague suggestions, 4 specific suggestions for chef) (1 suggestion for a mage who (while they don't enter combat) can cast spells to help or hinder, they may have a spell to restore some HP, a buff to increase gathers for exploration and herbalism) There are a lot of people who want a chef career to be added, but no hunger bars. Instead the food should apply buffs and maybe a debuff here and there like for example, a villager could be sick if they are fed too much or there is a side effect on occasion. Ā Ā Ā Introduce two new sub-classes of explorer. Perhaps these a direct sub-classes, as in a villager can't take this career unless they've performed X explorations already. The first is a Gatherer, which can be sent out for specific item types such as seeds or reagents. The gatherer is āout gatheringā for X length of time and then returns with a large number of items from the requested class. After this, they are tired and must rest for X length of time before they can be sent out again, though they can still perform other careers during this time. Ā The other sub-class would be some variety of treasure hunter. Again, they would be out searching for a certain length of time. Treasure hunters would return with various fragments. Map Fragment, Schematic Fragment, and Idol Fragments. These fragments could be combined (perhaps by a crafter) into a map, schematic, or idol. The schematics are for tier-four weaponry and armour, which can only be assembled from items found at the locations pointed to in the maps. Treasure hunters, once they have a complete map, can search those locations for the weapon parts. The idol can be equipped to a warrior in a manner similar to pets. It significantly increases that warrior's chance of encountering rare and super-rare enemies. Maybe even allows warriors to encounter a previously impossible-to-find rarity, with even more health and drops than Super Rare.
Job limits take precedence from the economic aspects of the game and turn it more into a checklist of tasks to do over a span of time than an economy game. My interest in the game is dwindling at this point, but I'm prepared to continue with the beta to see how it pans out. Further limits to production will be a deal-breaker for me. [3]
Blacksmiths and carpenters should level in multiples of 5 like doctors.
Blacksmiths and carpenters should level from repairing.[3]
Non-specific requests to make careers more interactive. [2]
Reduce breeding cooldown for animal husbandry [13]
Increase likelihood of breeding rare pets[3]
Doctors should heal villagers directly. Doctors have one healing charge per X hours to make medicine still useful. [5]
Increase number of offspring produced per breeding [2]
Please work more on giving all villages a balance of useful/desirable items on various levels of difficulty to obtain.
Stables, houses, and plant pots should not take durability hits if they are unoccupied.[3]
Explorers should have a 'leveling' system, where the more exploring they do the 'further' they can travel. It would take a lot so it wouldn't destroy the trading between villages but as your villager 'levelled up' you can select a region to be able to travel to. Then you'd have to 'level up' again to select another, and so on. Or maybe only one extra region can be assigned to one villager. But in really high levels, they can go to the shops in those regions to buy recipes and blueprints ect.
Introduce a studding/pet rental system for animal husbandry. [10] A rented pet occupies space in the renter's stable, and leaves a placeholder in its original stable, rendering the space unusuable. The owner determines the length of time for which the pet may be rented. The renter may breed or tame the pet as if it were their own, and when the time has elapsed it automatically returns to its original stable.
Quality of Life/UI:
Add a third mode to the CSS switch: āView custom CSS, but disable any animationsā. This enables people to enjoy custom CSS without the disturbance or potential health risk some animations entail.
Introduce a ādisable custom forum fontsā toggle, which will return all forum font sizes, styles, and colours to default for the viewier.[3] Introduce a limit on font colours, rendering pale or bright colours un-selectable/default to black.
Allow users to disable the ārecent forum activityā sidebar.[3]
Allow users to customise the recent forum activity sidebar so that it displays only threads that they have previously posted in.[4]
Introduce a ādisplay forum signaturesā on/off toggle in forum settings.
Add a joke/shitpost sub-forum. This forum section would not show in the recent activity, and once you post in it, one's post count would not go up. [4]
Allow users to search for a specific sex of minipet in stalls. [7]
Reduce the amount by which pages refresh/reduce the number of loading bars around the site. [3]
Make it possible to search stalls simply by typing, without waiting for some kind of item database to load. (that is, it should search like google/an ordinary search engine)[8]
Greatly reduce the size of the item type checkboxes in stall search, or move it to the side so it does not push search results down.[3]
Make it possible to sort by price when browsing stalls.[3]
Allow users to choose between chat-style PMs, and forum-style PMs. [3]
Reduce visual padding throughout the site. For example, reduce the size of the header bar and reducing the amount of spacing between elements.
Allow the site's width to respond to the width of the browser window, with no maximum, so that there is less white space either side of content. The same applies for pop-ups.
The forums really need to not have posts that blend into each other. (Possibly a request for clearer post dividers?)
The message āthere is a new post in a forum thread you are subscribed toā should include the thread title. [13] Pings to forum threads should do the same.
Notifications for the same event should stack to āThere are X new posts in this forum thread you are subscribed toā, āX items were purchased from your stallā, āX item transfers were acceptedā, etc [6]
Add a search function to the forums.[5]
Announce changes prior to implementing them.
Introduce a suggestions sub-forum.[4]
Ability to delete your posts and threads on the forum [6]
Transfer items by username rather than ID number [4]
Allow users to set their time-zone so the site clock aligns with their local time.[2] Ideally, "Furvilla time" should appear next to it to allow users to have a unified timezone reference.
Allow users to set a single uniform text size to apply site-wide.[2]
Place all settings under the user settings panel.
Minipets should always indicate current breeding cooldown - in inventory or stalls [13]
Allow users to select a āforum villagerā which appears on their forum posts regardless of active villager. [3]
Make it clear what costume each costume piece belongs to in the item description.
Split āoff-topicā into more sub-forums, such as games, films, etc.[4]
Introduce an 18+ forum for adults that would allow for SOME interesting discussion that doesn't have to be 'kid friendly' [3]
Introduce a villager stall, used to sell and buy villagers [12]
Other suggestions or complaints
Rename the āwolfā species to ācanineā, and split it into wild and domestic like cats. [4]
Merge "cat" and "big cat" into one species, like wolf. This makes painties for both species easier.
Make it impossible to enter the lottery if the user has won in the last <timeframe>
Introduce a means of earning FD in-game [7] Victories against super rare enemies, rarely finding while exploring, and every 25 heart levels with minipets.
Painties should always be FD only. [3]
Mods are inconsistent in rule application
Painties shoudl only refund FD if they were removed for violating a new rule. [2]
Support tickets need to be replied to more promptly [2]
Remove shifties from Tigereye Peak/make them available in all villages. [9] Ā Should cost 35-50k FC from a neutral shopkeep, rather than a potion. compensate people with the current recipe in some other way.
Shifties should be more difficult to make.[2]
Introduce an in-site converter that swaps FC for FD and visa versa.[3]
Hard-limit the CSS customisability of certain elements (IE, those it would be against the rules to edit) [3]
Introduce breeding villagers.
Poor sense of community. [4]
Increase CSS customisability. [2]
Not having items locked behind user-unfriendly RNG boxes is great.
Make it possible to hide certain painties so that default art is displayed instead, based on user tags.[3]
Make it possible to hide certain species and display a placeholder instead.[3]
Introduce minigames.[10]
Introduce treasure boxes, full of rare materials or unique items.
Vague requests that mods be retrained or in some unspecified way acquire more skill or knowledge. [7]
Introduce daily spins.
Interest on banks is a bad idea. It creates more money for doing nothing, allows people to still make money by not logging in for years, and promotes the rich getting richer while the poor very slowly get slightly more money. It's a huge factor in widening the income gap, assuming it's %-based, and honestly, if it's not, then it's impossible to balance. It's easy to game the system no matter how you implement it. If it's interest on X days of the month, just store EVERYTHING the day before. If it's X time based on how long since a last transaction, that sucks for people who want to make transactions frequently. The only decent way to do it is set time intervals, but that's vulnerable to the same manipulation once people notice.
Users are losing interest and want more to do [6]
Everything on this site requires too many clicks.[2]
Increase the autosell value of crafted items to match the total autosell value of all ingredients.[2]
Make the red panda a raccoon base varient, or change up the design.
Non-specific complaints that there is not much to do [2]
Complaints about poor site responsiveness/slow load times [6]
Complaints about illness being annoying or impeding. [3]
Complaints about too much grinding [3]
Non-specific complaints about the existence of shifties [3]
Moderators behave unprofessionally [3]
Mods do not communicate well among one another
More reasons for cross-village trading. Common illnesses that use herbs from different villages for cures, crafters able to take different materials and create items for construction workers or blacksmiths to use on higher level schema, etc.
Rare species for Old Foxbury.[3]
Expand the villager sidebar to greater than ten. [4]
The site's white background is difficult to look at. [3]
Tutorials are vague, outdated, and generally need improvement. [6]
Praise
This whole list seems really negative, so I decided to include all the positive comments that people left in my survey.
No complaints! (Specifically counting people who actually took the time to say they had no complaints when this part of the survey was completely optional) [23]
The staff listen to the userbase well [4]
Regular updates are great [11]
The staff seem to be working really hard/doing their best. [6]
Praise for shifties [6]
Non-specific praise that the site is enjoyable [7]
