Wendip July is coming and prompts are open!
Hello, fellow Wendippers!
For the last few weeks we (that is @nautiscarader and @ddp456) have been brainboxing, with your help, to think on how to improve out Wendip Week formula. We want it to be bigger, better, attract both new and old fans, and generate buzz for the upcoming anniversary of our favourite show.
And so, after listening to your voices, suggestions and complaints (for which we all wholeheartedly thank for), we’ve decided as follows:
The Wendip Week formula stays mostly the same; the Week itself will occur from 22nd to 30th of July 2018. The more observant of you will notice that it has nine days, and it’s not a mistake. Aside from seven regular prompts, we include Potluck day, during which you’d be able to use any of the prompts that have not been chosen, and a Wildcard day, which will let you create anything you want (Wendip-related of course). That means more freedom for you to create your favourite Wendip scenario if some of the prompts won’t fit your ideas.
This of course means that the prompts are open! For the next two weeks, from 18th of April to 1st of May You can send them in bulk or in separate messages to our blog. Once this is done, we will post a poll so you can choose which seven ones are going to become official Wendip Week prompts. We’ll keep you informed with deadlines by spamming your dashboard with notification posts.
The preceding weeks (from 1st to 7th, 8th to 14th, 15th to 21st) would become what we called “Celebration weeks”. Our fandom has created lots and lots of Wendip fan content, but over the years many of these have been buried under hundreds of other reblogs, stored in the ever-growing “read later” folders, or lay forgotten with just a handful of “likes”.
Well, it’s time to dig them up. In those weeks, we would like you to reblog your favourite Wendip fan creations, post links to those if it’s not tumblr, write comments on fanart or fanfiction you love, and generally share as much Wendip as possible. So far, we decided to dedicate the weeks accordingly to the amount of different types that is posted: one to fanart, one to fanfics, and one to other forms (like cosplay, playlists, etc), though if demand is high, we can extend or divide them!
Each one will be lead by master or mistress of ceremony - someone who is well-acquainted with the subject. We will do the heavy-lifting, unless we can find someone else who would like to join us. Specific guides will be posted in June, before the weeks begin.
And so, without further ado, our inbox is open for your prompt ideas, so send them to us!
