Good Omens is Autistic Culture⢠because the whole Aziraphale and Crowley story is basically just two people fighting for their right to be harmlessly weird, rather than having to change how and who they are to fit the standards of their respective societies.
Their primary motivation is that they just want to eat the foods they like and enjoy their hobbies, and in Heaven/Hell they won't get to do that, because it's not what angels/demons are Supposed To Do.
So they find somebody who is also Weird and hang out with them instead, working to save the world for the both of them.
And it's not even that they can necessarily relate to each other all the time. It's not like Crowley can understand why Aziraphale insists on wearing the same coat for >100 years and seems to have stopped trying to keep up with modernity at around 1950, anymore than Aziraphale can understand why Crowley likes sleeping when he doesn't have to and insists on only driving at top speed.
Doesn't matter, by and large they accept and put up with it. Crowley might tease Aziraphale for calling all modern music 'bebop', but he won't try and make him feel stupid for not knowing. Aziraphale might beg Crowley to slow down while he's in the car, but he never threatens to get out or stop getting lifts with him.
Because the one thing they do understand is what it's like to be made to feel like a freak because you like things that other people don't, and they refuse to do that to each other, and my autistic heart relates.
