❉—Kratos listened to the women and he wondered why she reminded so much of…another? Perhaps it was because of similar situations? Both had been taken by Cruxis and used in Kvar’s Angelous Project - an annoyance in his mind. However, that was only because he and Anna had been chased down time and time again. It did nothing but make the /now/ naturally fearful women…more skittish of things around her.

"I know? Of course, as one of Cruxis and underling of only the leader. I know everything. However, there are somethings the leader doesn’t even know about-" Kratos addressed his eyes towards her in hope she would catch the message.

Her explanation was one that was…unexpected to say the least? Why a full 19 years? If Kratos recalled she had been found in the forest by that village…Mizuho if memory served true. “Lack of bloodline? Cruxis has taken many from families before, have we not?” The proof being the children from the ranches. Kratos stated as fact not that he was proud of said things. However, some /harsh/ events would need to take place in order for Martel to be revived.

"If I were to tell you of a single reason that makes you a threat to all of Cruxis, would you listen. Not here, many ears lurk in the surroundings?"

   'Some things the leader... doesn't know about?' Her eyes blinked in utter surprise over this revelation. What could possibly be that the leader didn't know about her? They had basically raised her and studied her body all along. Was it something they missed?

   He was right, though. The lack or not of a bloodline never seemed to be a stop for them of capturing humans for Exphere creation purposes. She'd come to know kids, entire families even, during her own reclusion in the ranch. That was only another reason for her to find disgust on this organization and on their project.

   But even though, she kept listening to him without saying a word. Her eyes narrowed when he offered a teaser of the information he had, that obviously interested her, but with the condition that they should leave the place they were on. Could she trust his word?

"...I-I'm still not so sure. H-How I know you r-really want to give me t-that information? How I know you w-won't use it as a trap and t-take me to Cruxis?" Stated, as firmly as her weak voice could do. "Y-You're still one of them, after all."

  Emil jumped at the voice ringing out. Turning, he saw a rough-looking young woman, taking what appeared to him to be a fighting pose of some sort. He stumbled backwards, unsure of what was going on, or even where he was. The scenery seemed very unusual, and the woman's clothes looked foreign.

He tried his best to move into what he believed to be a non-threatening pose, before responding.

"I-I'm sorry to have startled you!" he called out, before slowly moving back again.

Her look softened at the sight of the person she'd come across with. He seemed young--probably a teen--and somewhat harmless, also seemingly startled as well for her sudden warn. Her stance dropped a bit, although she didn't let go completely of her guard. As harmless as the guy seemed.

"...I-It's okay--" She spoke softly, eyes gazing over him cautiously. "W-Who are you, a-and what are you d-doing here?"

Reid carrying a bloodied sword saw what looked like someone running in the distance, he made his way over there to get a better look. It seemed to be a woman in torn clothing, but before he could get closer she turned round shouting at him to stay away.

Reid put his hands in the air as a sign that he doesn’t mean harm.

'I'm sorry if i startled you, you look like you need help.'

   Her eyes kept in the vigilance of the man. Not even when he lifted his hand in peace sign she dropped her hard charade. In fact, her tension only aggravated when she saw the blood on the sword he carried.

"I-I don't... need help." Not from someone with a bloodied sword, anyway. For all she knew, this man could be part of the people that were in her search. She didn't trust an armed man, much less when he seemed to have come from a massacre of some sort.

"S-Stay away." Repeated.

   She stopped. Her feet were beginning to feel sore, tired of all the walk she'd had to endure on these days. But if living like a nomad meant avoiding being caught by the always vigilant eyes of Cruxis, she would continue doing it. She would continue traveling through land and sea, until she found a way to stop them from taking away people, families, and using them for their cruel Exphere experimenting.

   And for the jewel laid on her chest, and for her wounds and ragged clothes, she swore she would one day rescue the people from the ranch she'd broken free from.

   The presence of someone, though, caught her attention, and she turned quickly her look in direction to the stranger, scared eyes were accompanied with a not so scared frown, as she took a defensive position in case they were a possible enemy. Cruxis wasn't giving up her crystal for obvious reasons, but she wouldn't let them have it again.

"S-Stay away!"

A stranger?

She found herself staring at the person in front of her, with a defensive stance. Even though they didn't seem threatening, not much, she couldn't tell they weren't from the same organization that had taken the biggest part of her life away.

Cruxis weren't giving up on her search anytime soon, most probably, and something told her that they could end sending people that looked non-threatening or innocent only to catch her off guard and throw her inside of the ranch. Or maybe even punish her for trying such an escapade.

"W-Who are you?!" She asked, hostile as she'd learned to be in case of the appearance of suspects. "If Cruxis sent you, tell them I won't let them take me back. Not ever again."

ღ—She was very malnourished. That Anna was pretty damn sure of. The water canteen she carried was worn. However, it seemed to serve it’s purpose just fine. The women’s eyes looked a lot like hers did. When Anna finally ran away. Finally when the women escaped her living hell. Insane, lost, and broken. The feeling of worthlessness and a reality of always being watched. Damn, this young women acted like a mirror to Anna herself.

“So I guess hell’s angels really cannot be stopped. However, if what you say is true…then is what I saw a lie?” Anna /thought/ she whispered the last part. Though the other heard her outspoken thoughts.

"H-Hell’s angels?" She repeated. Then this woman KNEW about Cruxis'  real identity? She felt surprised now over this. But the other didn’t seem like she was part of them, by the contrary, it was as if they’ve done something bad to her, too. Maybe she would understand her?

But what she said next got her slightly confused. “W-What did you see?” Blinked. Oh, maybe it was just an out loud thought? Well, no step back, she already had asked.

“D-Did something happen to Cruxis? I-I… have been running away f-from them for a while now…” She tried not to get her hopes up, though. Cruxis’ reign was extremely powerful, and she could tell their leader, Lord Yggdrasill, wasn’t someone to take lightly. She’d feared, for months now, having to face him over her escapade from the ranch. It wouldn't be possible that in a few months something had happened to them, right?

Jade had been trying to find his bearings in this mew place before he heard a voice asking for his name. The state of the young woman he found alarmed him. Marks of having been bound, dirt and wounds… What the hell was that on her chest?! He approaches slowly, hiding his worry for now.

"My name is Jade, but that is not important right now. Are you alright, young lady?" He gets down to her level, making no move to grab her or examine her wounds. He didn’t want to give the wrong idea.

The woman took a step away, lifting her hands in front of her face defensively, feeling nervous at the approach of the man, even though he didn't seem to try anything at all, just look her close. "...I-I am okay-" She replied short, although that was something she wasn’t sure herself at all. Her body felt weak, even though the wounds didn't hurt much anymore and the crystal kept her strength to at least walk, and she was starving really bad, not having a decent meal in weeks at that. She lowered her arms slightly, and looked over to him in between curiosity and slight fear. The way the man was dressed didn't seem like a common citizen, but more like a kind of an uniform? Something she hadn't seem ever, though. Maybe he wasn't from Cruxis after all.

"Jade.... Y-You are not from Cruxis, r-right?"

One moment, Sakuya was in the midst of cleaning the mansion as usual. The next, Yukari appeared, told her someone needed her help, and threw her into one of her gaps. The maid tumbled around until she crashed into the ground. Shaking off the nausea, she saw another person with her as she got up.

"I could ask you the same question," Sakuya stared at the girl in front of her. "But I suppose I’ll answer. My name is Sakuya Izayoi, who are you?"

Her eyes looked over the stranger's weird style of clothing. She looked like a kind of a servant, she had remembered someone in the ranch commented over how riches' servants wore these kind of gowns, they had described them along the lines of the outfit this woman was wearing.

Then maybe, just perhaps, she was safe around her?

"Sakuya..." She repeated in a mumble, and shook her head softly. "I-I don't have a name. N-Not at all." Her face turned away, looking around in case there could be anyone spying the conversation. "B-But... I-I was called Subject A-586 b-before I escaped f-from--" Enough information. She cut suddenly, and sighed. ""

Zelos watched Sheena with a soft expression. Part of him wanted to sweep her off her feet and take her somewhere safe. He could see how scared she was and it angered him. How dare anyone hurt someone to the point of them being that scared or that nervous. 

Slowly moving one of his hands so it was out in front of him, palm facing up, Zelos looked at her with a soft smile. “It’s alright if you don’t want to tell me your name, but we should get out of here, alright? If people are after you then they might come looking for you out here. I can help you hide and get you something to eat, alright? I have no intention of hurting you.”

When he offered his hand up, she unconsciously took a step back, arms moving up to her chest to protect the crystal, eyes looking closely to the hand, then back up at him. Did he really want to help her? Or was it all just an act to catch her for Cruxis?

She shook her head quickly. “I-Is not that I don’t want t-to tell you… m-my name… I-I—” Her gaze dropped down again, while she thought carefully her response. “I-I… don’t know if I even have one, at all. I’m s-sorry—” Then she proceeded to give him a short apologetic bow with her head.

"B-But if you prefer it that way, y-you may refer to me as Subject A-586." Her face looked up at him, and for the very first time in a good while, a little weak smile appeared on her lips. "I-It’s not exactly a name b-but… T-That’s how people used to know me back in t-the ranch."

And even if she didn’t trust much on him, not yet, her hand hesitantly moved to take his own. “A-And I guess you are right… I-I will trust you, at least for now…” Her eyes looked down again, feeling a bit guilty for being uneasy to give him her trust completely, even if the man was being nice with no reason at all. “I-I’m sorry… Y-You’re being so kind with me and I'm s-still being so rude—”

ღ—”Ah, aren’t the flowers so pretty?” Anna mused to herself as she allowed her feet to rest in the ponds cool water to sooth her aching feet. Damn, that’s what she thought of all this walking. While she was a forest and nature lover - mainly flowers. A girl could only take so much. “I need a way to make money…” ~Crack Anna made out the shadow of some coming through the bushes and was immediately on guard when they could fully appeared under the sun’s bright light. Astonished by the vision of another person with a Cruxis Crystal. However, unlike herself this young lady adorned hers on the chest. Had they gotten someone else to take her place when she escaped? Even so, had this girl taken after her and vanished from that hell as well? It was months - years ago even! Hadn’t Cruxis been put to rest? She - well her spirit had been there when Lloyd killed Mithos, so why?

"Tell me child, is Cruxis still around?" She prayed to Martel she was wrong. So wrong…

Her ears caught in the distance the smooth sound of someone's voice, along with the sound of water, probably coming from the same source, the direction she was walking, the pond she visited daily to fill the bottle she'd received from the pilgrims on one of the Houses of Salvation.

Cautious by any chance of this being a possible enemy, she approached the place slowly, hiding behind some bushes. Her eyes caught in the distance the sigh of a woman, someone that seemed more like a simple civilian, not quite like that exuberant cardinal Pronyma, she complied. Trying to move closer silently, as to get a better sight of this person, she accidentally stepped on a dead branch on the floor, and gave on her position.

"S-Shit."

Her eyes looked up again to the scenery, now the woman was watching on her direction. Feeling defeated by being discovered, she decided to show herself, stepping out of the bushes and looking firmly at her, deciding to keep silence for now on.Or until the woman made a pretty unexpected question, while glancing over her and her Cruxis Crystal.

"U-Uh?" She blinked, astonished. "Y-Yeah... Cruxis is still around, w-watching for me. W-Why do you ask?"

Headcanon #1: Summoning Skills.

Subject A-586 is completely unaware about her abilities as a summoner, and that this is one of the major reasons why Cruxis decided to keep her as a "special subject".

Letting her know about her potentials would only bring her hope into being able to get free from them in a future, and they couldn't afford that. So instead, they had decided to tell her that the only reason why she was put as a "special subject" was because no one would claim for her; her parents abandoned her and disappeared from existence, leaving her with no place to belong to.

The way the women said his name full of venom reminded him of anothers first reaction as well. How much hatred could one’s name carry alone? From Kratos’ experiences /quite/ a lot. Cruxis…how that was something he expected, however not as soon as this? Perhaps she knew more than the others. 

This was /escaped/ subject A-586… Kratos thought before chuckling to himself. Seems Kvar couldn’t keep any of his experiments in damnation for long. Much was to be expected though when one vanished how did one not expect the next to follow suit? "I only stated you needed assistance, when did I say I was ordered to take you back?" However, Kratos knew the only way to earn trust was with truth, besides if he was ever to accomplish his goal he would need trust - for once - on his side. "One of the Four Seraphim of Cruxis. Though why would I expect you to believe my words? I am affiliated with the same people who put that crystal into your chest." Kratos paused wanting to see her reaction not gaining one at first he proceeded to continue. "However I am also one of three who know what is special about you. Have I peeked an interest?"

She simply stared quietly, eyes narrowing in even more distrust when the man had claimed to be in such a high rank on the organization that had taken the entirety of her life. If he expected her to trust him, it would be really difficult with the thought of his pertaining on it.

Though he himself seemed aware of that fact, calling over it with obviousness. Then why was him trying to persuade her?

And after his addition, her eyes widened slightly while her attention was effectively peeked. “W-What? You know—?” Well, of course he did. He worked with Cruxis, after all. She eyed him carefully, unsure of why was he attempting on this topic, that honestly, did interest her to know.

"I-I never thought there was a special reason, more than m-my lack of any relatives that could c-claim for me." A little frown appeared on her factions, making evident her disgust over the topic. "W-Why would there be another reason for them to keep me in t-track so animously? Don’t you have enough with stealing nineteen years from my life!?"

….Was I really born for the sole purpose of being an experimental subject for Cruxis…?

Zelos was surprised to see a Sheena look alike in the middle of nowhere. So surprised in fact that before she was even aware of him all he had done was stop and stare at her. It wasn’t surprising she immediately went on the defensive. 

Hands up in the air, Zelos wore a calm, but friendly look on his face. “It’s alright! Look I’m not going to hurt you. I don’t have anything to do with Cruxis anymore either alright? If I were here to hurt you I would have already wouldn’t I? When have you known Cruxis to beat around the bush? Just calm down alright?”

Keeping his hands in the air, Zelos remained perfectly still. “My name’s Zelos Wilder, I’m a fallen angel. I left Cruxis. Who are you?”

Relaxing a bit her threatening stance, she looked warily on the man, that had claimed his cut lazes with Cruxis. "A-A fallen... angel?" Blinked, not sure if she'd heard something like that before. Was it possible that he just escaped like her? Should she trust his words?

Her free hand rubbed her arm anxiously, trying to calm herself a bit, while she looked down, a bit embarrassed. Well, he was right. If he was watching for her, he could have taken her by surprise, probably hitting her unconscious, or directly removing her crystal. A trembling hand moved to touch it unconsciously, and she looked back at him with narrowed eyes in distrust.

"I-I can't be sure if you're saying the truth, b-but I guess I'll accept it for now." Her eyes diverted away now, trying to think about the answer to his next question.

'...Who am I?' She was certain no one had bothered in asking before, and it was actually okay for her, since she wouldn't have to think much about her identity... or lack of it. But now, this man did, and she was unsure of what she would respond. Should she tell him the name she'd always been called of? Or should she tell him the truth?

"I-I... can't tell you for sure. I-I'm sorry."

Her nervous eyes turned to glance to the new strangers approaching her, feeling a bit tense, even though none of them seemed at all to represent a threat. Still, she could never be completely sure when it came to it. Cruxis was powerful, they could have different kind of people searching all over Sylvarant and Tethe'alla for her, for all she knew.

"W-Who are you?" She asked, with a hostile undertone, not letting her guard down any moment.

Her eyes widened upon seeing the raven haired woman, and her unhealthy appearance. This was wrong… this was all wrong, wasn’t it?

Sheena?

Her fingers went to press at the gem at her neck, an instinctual action to see another sight she was innately unprepared for: her friend’s exsphere. She didn’t keep hers there, as long as she remembered. Her hand lowered again suddenly.

No.

She didn’t…

Being unrecognized was painful. They’d laughed together, cried together, tumbled together, and became such close friends. No matter the circumstances, she always cared about her precious friends. Those who stood by her, and she in turn stood with them… through those dark days.

She smiled, and yet it was painful. She looked so afraid — so lonely. She couldn’t leave her here like this.

"I… My name is Colette. It’s nice to meet you."

She brushed at the stray tear to drip down her face. Sheena probably couldn’t know this, but she wanted desperately to look after her. There was something bad here, with that exsphere. No matter what, she was her friend. She wouldn’t abandon her.

"...Colette?"

The name didn't even ring on her mind. She was a complete stranger for the young woman, then why did she look so surprised when she'd asked about her identity? And even though she'd smiled later, there was something off that she couldn't identify, her eyes didn't look happy as to match. Why was this stranger like that?

Yet something she was sure was that the blonde didn't feel like a threat still. If this was a trap, for sure she felt was being deceived by it.

"...It's... nice to meet you, too." She replied, rather awkwardly. It felt so weird when someone was attempting to be this nice to her. Her hand moved to rub her sore wrist, feeling a bit embarrassed. "T-Though... I still would like to ask you something."

She felt still a bit bad for distrusting this humble-looking girl, but how was she pretending to escape from Cruxis if she stopped to trust anyone that crossed her path and offered her a bit of comfort?

"Y-Your crystal..." She stopped and shook her head, hand moving to hover over her own Cruxis Crystal. "...D-Did... you get it from Cruxis?"

Someone has spotted you!

The first thing that caught Zelos’ attention was how thin and fragile Sheena looked, much different than the last time he’d seen her. Her clothing was tattered, hardly suitable to even be called clothing at all in the shape it was in. He’s been about to call out to her when she had caught sight of him and went rigid. It was surprising how much that hurt, just the sight of so much tension radiating from her body at the mere sight of him. Had he really upset her that much? Before he could follow that train of thought any further, she spoke and his mind was sent reeling.

“…Who am I?” he repeated incredulously, trying to ignore the painful clench in his heart at her words. After everything they had been through, she had forgotten him? His gaze fell suddenly to the crystal at her throat, barely visible through her defensively clenched fingers, and his stomach lurched. That was an exsphere…with no key crest.

He mentally backed up a step, examining her more critically, gaze sweeping her familiar and yet foreign form. This was Sheena, but it wasn’t Sheena. He wasn’t even sure how to process what he was seeing. “How…how did you get that?” he asked, keeping his voice level with great effort. To see her like this, to have her forget him, was a sharper pain than he could have anticipated. He doubted it would have hurt more if she had physically taken a knife to his chest, sinking a blade into his heart.

“I’m not with Cruxis anymore…” he added, trying to reassure her. Cruxis was dissolved, for all intents and purposes, at least he thought it was. Kratos had left with Derris Kharlan, taking what remained of Cruxis with him, aside from Yuan. There should be no reason for anyone to experiment with exspheres any more, yet here she was, looking as if she’d escaped a human ranch. The level of mistrust in her eyes kept him at bay as effectively as a sword drawn between them.  He couldn’t keep the wounded expression from creeping across his face as he watched her warily eying him, no recognition on her face.

"…You really don’t know me" he murmured aloud, unwilling to accept it but unable to deny it.

Her expression turned from one radiating tension and threat, to a completely confused one. Why was he asking how did she get her crystal? If he was looking for her, mind you, to get her back to the Human Ranch and all, they would have probably explained it to him, right?

…Right?

"Y-You… you have one too, you should know that." Blurted, not sure still why was he asking that, and not sure if she should answer at all. Her hold on her crystal tightened a bit.

But she felt rather confused as well with the fact that he admitted being part of Cruxis, once, what would totally explain he had a crystal over all. Now, what displaced her about him, more than his own confusion and honesty, was his expression. He looked hurt, somewhat. Why was this? She relaxed a bit her defensive stance, still looking him closely with distrust, but not as tense as before.

"H-How… can I trust you’re not trying to deceive me? How can I-I be so sure you really are not with them anymore?" The ravenette let out in a trembling voice, still with a hint of disbelief.

But even though, she felt concerned by his hurt expression? Why was him like that? Who was him anyway?

"….A-And no—" She turned her face away, trying to avoid feeling bad for his expression any more. "I-I really don’t k-know who you are. T-That’s why I am asking you."
