Fast forward
A year has passed since my last Tumblr post.
I don’t even understand the whole concept of posting on Tumblr anymore.
There’s just so much going on over Snapchat (I deleted mine), Instagram (now with Instastories) and Facebook (messenger features + my day). In the words of our millennial friends, such #firstworldproblems.
There are soooo many ways to connect with your audience, your followers, your fans. Instantly, fleetingly.
But really, what’s the point of having so many social networking apps if it only detaches us from what’s really important? What would you really wanna tell the digital world? or what do you want to get from it?
If you have seen the TV series Black Mirror. You’ll have an inkling as to where I’m coming from. Their episodes “Nosedive” and “Be Right Back” really hit me.
These technologies are changing the way we live, heck, even the way we feel every day. #daminghugot
Sometimes it’s just too much that you want to deactivate.
But since I work within the e-commerce industry, and founded an online fashion subscription business myself, I can’t really quit social media. I cannot simply turn it off and expect myself to be as productive, or better yet, become successful without it.
So this 2017, my New Year’s resolution is to make good use of my time scrolling through these apps and turn it into a productive hobby rather than just entertaining distractions.
A lot can be learned through the internet. I hope more netizens jump onto this bandwagon of reading news articles, watching video how-to’s, or blogs about innovations. I hope more netizens write and share the good stuff. I hope more netizens be reminded that they are still also human so they will keep their minds and hearts intact. and lastly, I hope more netizens like my selfies which are totally irrelevant to this post. LOL
Anyway.. Before we know it, it’s 2018, so be a smart netizen! :)
Happy 2017!
