Reflections from my LA weekend's #traveljournal … "Before this weekend, the greater LA area had little appeal to me. I grew-up longing for New York City, which morphed into an obsession with large cities in general. All the while, LA seemed over hyped. 'How much better could it really be out there…' I remember thinking. Oh how wrong I was! This weekend in the City of Angles showed me beautifully diverse landscapes complete with mountainous regions, skyscrapers, beaches with crashing waves, palm trees, warm weather and quiet residential streets with modern architecture that I could easily uproot my life for. Christopher and I stayed in West Hollywood for one night to see our pal, Lauren. One night in South Pasadena for the Kubb West Coast Championship. Then our final night was spent in Venice Beach to get an extra large dose of sun (and a little sun burn, in my case). We got chocolates from Compartés, shopped the boutiques at Atwater Village and on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, drove the Pacific Coast Highway, walked along Zuma Beach, watched the surfers in Venice, flexed a little at Muscle Beach and gazed lovingly at the Santa Monica sunset on the pier. I loved it allllll and yet there's still so much more! I look forward to our next visit already. Southern California is highly addictive. 😍" • Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions of places to see and things to do. You all helped big time! 🙌 • #jonestravel #california #losangeles #lettering #handlettering #moderncalligraphy (at Los Angeles, California)
