Got to do some sticker/enamel pin designs for Umbral Wings dragon tarot, too! Check out the kickstarter!

Studies of photos from Lichen Portal. Blessed to live in a timeline where there’s a whole website where I can look at lichen around the world while sitting at home.

Hello!! One month late to responding to this ask but! My question for you is… why do you want to draw more?
If there’s something you want to draw, then just draw it! If there’s something you want to draw, but don’t know how to draw it, then look up refs and do studies! If you just want to draw for the sake of drawing but don’t know what to draw, you can experiment with different techniques or look up prompt lists! If there’s a skill you want to get better at (brush pens, colors, composition, etc), practice that! If you don’t actually want to draw but is forcing yourself to draw… figure out what’s making you not want to draw and deal with that first.
The majority of drawing I do while slacking off at work:
- Look up photos of something I like (forest scenery, a cool machine, a mushroom, fun clothes) and then draw from photo using pen only
- Look up art I like and try to study that (master copy)
- Draw a bunch of circles but they all have to be different sizes
- The good old Draw a box/cylinder exercises
Also, something that helps me is to think of everything as practice that I don’t have to show anyone! Of course, I have the privilege of not needing to draw for work, so YMMV… Hope this helps though :)

Hello Blob, I find your art really nice!! Can you share a bit of your art journey and how you got to the place you are today? As someone who has been rediscovering art as a way to rediscover myself I personally see art as something very nourishing, so I was wondering what your views and experiences were? Sorry if this is a weird ask lol, in my years using Tumblr I've never send one
ps. what are your pronouns? I don't think I saw them in your bio (if you wanna share of course)
Wow my inbox is full of old asks and I didn't see any of them until now!! Thank you for the nice message and sorry for taking 3 months to get to this anon! But this is a fun question hmm... I think I've always used art as a form of communication, especially since I was never good at using words. When I share my art online it can connect me with other people who got something out of what I was trying to express. .. Or just other people who liked the same thing I do! Even if only 1 or 2 people see it it's nice that they took the time to interact with it.
I like seeing other people's art for the same reason - when someone draws something it 100 % came from their brains! The things they like, the things they've seen, all of it ends up affecting the end result, which is cool. Have you ever dug through your friends pencil cases in elementary school? It's kinda like that.
Also from a simpler side, I... like pictures haha... Also I enjoy practicing art sometimes - it can be a nice way to fidget or be meditative. It's also kind of fun to look back at old art and see how much I've improved or changed.
Re: pronouns - whatever you want them to be 😎
