i know its not the thing everyone is mad at but man the piglin invasion thing with the minecraft movie fucking sucks

it sucked ass in the spinoffs and it sucks ass there. i pray they never canonize it in the actual game. fantasy good vs evil and evil species type shit is an absolutely awful addition to the initially very open-ended and desolate world of minecraft. making everything high fantasy bs just destroys the imaginative power of the setting.

genuinely the most obvious and least creative way to take the implied history of the world and why piglins are like that. genuinely the sort of obvious drivel youd get from an ai chatbot if you asked it to come up with a story for minecraft.

it bothers me so much because the setting genuinely sparks some creative thinking if you think about it at all and try to put the pieces together. applying a coherent story to it just feels so awful and destructive to me.
