"I have no doubt you’re aware of Educational Decree Number 24…"
It’s clear that Harry isn’t sure about talking about it, and John isn’t surprised — he’s not one of the students, not anyone who’d be immediately trusted. Knowing they have Hermione Granger with them, no doubt they’re hiding their meetings well. Learning a few extra spells… John tilts his head, unable to help a small, and perhaps a bit mischievious, smile. “DADA spells, no doubt? I give you that you’ve always had talent in that area…”
It worries him, though; if they get caught, they might well get expelled.
"Have you thought about talking to Professor Dumbledore about this? Because I’m sure— he’d want to know, Harry."
They know about it, of course — and they don't care. Dumbledore's Army isn't about school, it's about learning to protect themselves, whatever the cost. The fact that Umbridge and the rest of the Ministry are too blind to see what's under their noses doesn't phase him.
John's opinion, though, does. He's always liked the man, but he's not quite sure where his loyalty lies, particularly in this matter. He doesn't like Umbridge, though, that's for sure. Can he be trusted?
"I haven't, no. But he wouldn't be interested, would he? It's just a bit of revision."
