Hi my name is Jala!(@jaynajeeah) I’m a filmmaker, theatre artist, & cosplayer. My work is about familial bonds and the transformations of family through a black, queer, and Southern lens. I look at family and how family dynamics changed based on interpersonal issues and how we force our family’s to grow. Specifically How our lineage and the history of blackness informs our relations to our loved ones and the world around us. My work analyzes the ever evolving dynamic of the black family structure to hold a mirror to the world.
