The detail that Radiance takes mind and will away, granting strength but turning everyone into mindless husks of infection, is cruelly ironic. In a sense, all infected share the Hollow Knight's state...

The first and only question...

It was interesting to find out that the Hollow Knight has thoughts that aren't used in the game. It inspired me to quickly sketch my interpretation.

It makes sense to start question things when you are ordered to kill your sibling… the one you left to die in the abyss who knows how long ago.

It is curious to think about it in this way, that what gave them the last bits of strength to resist the Radiance was actually their own doubt and the shadow of their own will. The will to... question and disobey.

(On a related note, it was fun if not confusing to find out that the most common and accepted interpretation of the Hollow Knight is so different from my own. I don't know how I feel about it… it makes me uncertain about sharing my version, but at the same time, it also inspires me to draw more just for the sake of it)

I finally got myself to get back to doing things in blender…

Trying to create the Hollow Knight/Pure Vessel 3D model. This is very different from the models I made before, so I improvise.

(I like their design in how both elegant and scary it is)

The cloak is the hardest part; I have never modeled detailed clothing or cloth-like things, so for now I'm just trying to figure out what it should look like (if it is a natural part of the vessel's body, should it then look organic?) and how to make it work (it is rigged through simple armature. Has its flaws, but that's much easier than getting cloth simulation to work).

By the way, the model is literally hollow! Pretty much all body parts are hollow with the Solidify modifier. I don't know if this makes sense, just was curious to try this method.

Born in the dark depths that lie beyond the known, created by desperate experiments. The creator is gone and the purpose is lost, and all it knows is silence among the dead. Like a ghost that was never meant to be brought to life. Nothing more than regret, for no one to see.

Illustration of my Hollow Knight OC. Even though I mostly draw fanart just for fun, it has some deep personal meaning to me. Like a way to reflect on sad things in a fun way.

(I made an actual dead vessel brush just for this drawing. Now I can combine it with karma flower brush I once made for my Rain World drawing)

Having fun with my Hollow Knight OCs. It feels nice to return to the good old days when I simply drew for joy, without demanding anything more from my characters and drawings.

Fai/Soul (the vessel one) has a sort of a story (which is mostly copied from my original stories featuring her...), but the main point is still to just have fun with random ideas, as well as learning to draw in a more simple style for the sake of ideas and characters. After working on Fai skin, this cute cartoony style scares me a lot less (it was never something I knew how to draw).

The two other characters are... peculiar ones! :D Just a funny idea to explore.

(The Shade steals all your geo and has a nail… by that logic it steals your nail too and you should actually fight it unarmed?)

While taking a break from drawing, yet still wanting to draw, I decided to try to create a custom skin for Hollow Knight. It took some effort, but at the same time was even meditative. Now I can play as Fai (my OC) :D
