Tick, Tick… Boom! 2021 | dir. Lin-Manuel Miranda
EUPHORIA 2.06 | A THOUSAND LITTLE TREES OF BLOOD
hozier’s line “at best you’ll find a little remedy, at worst the world will sing along” is so fucking beautiful. taking the idea of music providing some semblance of solace, something most would see as a small perk, and presenting it as the best case scenario. taking the idea of tons of other people listening to and sharing that music, something most would see as a huge achievement, and presenting it as merely a pleasant fallback. its so amazing how that line serves as a reminder that music’s primary purpose isn’t fame or fortune or even necessarily unifying people- it’s just about personally getting something out of it. it’s about its impact on the individual listener. it’s supposed to be therapeutic and comforting and restorative. it’s supposed to mean something, to someone, and if you’re lucky it’ll mean something to you. idk i just think it’s beautiful
loneliness can shrink your bones and make you see god, it's morbid and holy, and gives birth to art and poetry and vice and sins.
