OMG, it’s Caecilius from my latin text books.

This textbook, with a nice picture of the bust of Caecilius. You translate all these stories about him and his family (spoiler, the dog dies in a volcano)

So, when I was in year 7 (12, for USians and other aliens), I went on holiday to Pompeii with my family. And we went to the museum where this statue was. Because, hey, lets go and look at the statue of the guy from the textbook! And um. um.

Apparently the textbooks don’t show the whole statue.

Literally not a single person at school believed me.
