Bernie: 15 Hillary: 12-15 Trump: Imported undocumented workers and underpaid them to work on his projects. Currently makes his clothing line in China for tiny wages.

Please do not listen to 25 years of GOP propaganda. Hillary has worked on progressive causes for 40 years. She was the 11th most liberal senator while in the Senate. Due to Republican hatred, she is the most investigated person in the country and nothing has ever come of it. She is not a criminal, she could not be a criminal, they would have found something they could have trumped up charges on in 25 years of endless, ongoing investigations. She’s been abused by the GOP and burned by the press over and over and is still pursuing her goal. She is smart and ambitious and experienced and tenacious and knowledgeable and practical and none of those are bad things for a President. Jill Stein may be a nice woman, but she has no governmental experience and practically no platform. Gary Johnson is a Republican who cares less about social issues. Hillary and Bernie have more politically in common than any other candidates. Please, if you care about the issues that Bernie cares about, think about voting Hillary.

Wildlife biologists are stuck between a rock and a hard place on this, and many other human-wildlife interaction issues. This situation demonstrates why we should always leave wildlife alone. I spend a lot of time as a biologist talking about how wildlife don’t actually need our help. They don’t need to be saved from nature, and even when they do, it’s not our job to save them. That may seem counterintuitive, harsh even, but wildlife conservation is about populations, not individuals. Yellowstone National Park is not a zoo, or a sanctuary, or a wildlife rehabilitation center. The goal of wildlife managers is to maintain ecological processes, and this does not include pulling wildlife out of populations and throwing them into captivity for the sake of keeping them alive. However, this doesn’t mean that wildlife managers are callous about wildlife - just the opposite. I am a wildlife biologist because I am in awe of, in love with, and constantly seek to conserve wildlife and wild places. Natural ecosystems are complex machines where birth and death play key roles in the perseverance of that community, and no amount of emotion or opinion can override these facts. When we assume that experts are wrong simply because we disagree with their actions or their advice, we make it more difficult to accomplish common goals. Our current social environment dictates that experts are not allowed to disagree with emotions. In the case of the bison calf, and many human-wildlife issues, do-gooders are at odds with wildlife experts. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter if the tourist had good intentions, as it was misguided, against park rules, and resulted in the death of the animal.

Meteorologist Liberté Chan was in the middle of her forecast when she was given a cardigan to cover up. Viewers were apparently writing in, appalled by her outfit. In a second video posted to her Facebook page, Chan and a coworker read some of the “angry emails” and responded.
And there it is. The exact problem with this whole thing in six words. Dress codes follow women from school to professional life — and in every situation, they are sending a clear and damaging message about priorities.

Tumblr, I really need your help. David, a friend of mine, has not been seen or heard from since Tuesday night. His roommates reported him missing yesterday after not coming home on Tuesday and not reporting to his final exams the following day.
Please if you live anywhere near the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, please please please share this.
This is very unlike David. He is an extremely responsible, kind, and thoughtful person. Because of this, his family is extremely worried.
He was last seen wearing dark pants and a dark jacket, leaving Wilkins Hall at 9 pm on Tuesday, May 10th.

What do you think of Hillary supporting things when those things start to become popular (i.e. gay marriage)? Isn't that the least bit suspicious? Isn't that just a little bit of an indicator that she's just trying to gain power and will say anything to get it?
It’s hard to remember this (thankfully) but ten years ago it was impossible to get elected to a highly contested political office while supporting gay marriage. Hillary’s statement in 2000 that marriage was between a man and a woman, but people in committed same-sex relationships should be given the same rights as a married couple was a politically dangerous compromise in the year 2000. Indeed, this was the exact same compromise that Bernie Sanders helped usher in in Vermont that same year.
People get so damned pissed at Hillary…picking apart every bit of her record to confirm the existing bias that she’s a conspiratorial, power-hungry nut job. It’s terrifying to me, because she’s likely to be the nominee, and we seem really predisposed to distrusting her.
I don’t really understand people who get up in a politician’s face for being at the mercy of public opinion. It is literally their job to enforce the will of the people, that’s why this is a democracy. I would much rather have a person lead this country who is willing to change their mind than one who has always believed and will always believe the same thing. Or worse, someone who knows without a doubt that they are always right and have somehow never been wrong.
Bernie has been a much more stalwart supporter of LGBT rights than Hillary, and his vote against the “Defense of Marriage Act” was politically dangerous and courageous. But he also had the freedom of representing a small, homogenous, progressive state.
I remember the dumb arguments we made to ourselves that gay marriage wasn’t a big deal. I remember accepting those arguments myself. And I remember it being an litmus test that conservatives were using to weed out progressives and further their totally unrelated agendas. It sucked, but it happened…and we have to remember that before around 2006, a very strong majority of Americans opposed gay marriage.
It seems impossible now to be a conscious human and be opposed to marriage equality, but that was not the case 20 years ago. We sucked, and we shouldn’t forget it or give people a pass…but Hillary was ahead of the curve on this issue…just not as ahead as Bernie was.
Yes and/but as an outsider who has approached this situation as an outsider, the conversation I’m seeing is that Bernie was *always* in favour of marriage equality. When I started to do my own research, though, I didn’t see this. I saw articles like this opinion piece (and yes, of course, opinion pieces fit in their boxes) which said:
Obtaining Congressman Bernie Sanders’ position on the gay marriage issue was like pulling teeth…from a rhinoceros. Last month, shortly after the decision of the Amestoy Court was issued, Mr. Sanders publicly tried walking the tightrope — applauding the court’s decision and the cause of equal rights without supporting civil marriage for same-sex couples.

It took everyone different times to get there and that’s whatever that is. They’re also both politicians. But this idea of inherent, born-with-an-understanding-of-what-justice-is purity is making this conversation so polarised. As someone with very close Mexican relatives in this country it seriously worries me that people consider not voting against Trump because the Dem candidate isn’t pure enough or hasn’t had the perfect record when in reality, when you look at the facts, neither Bernie nor Hillary has a perfect record on this.
I respect that people want to vote for something. I respect that many people think their vote is worth enough that they want to be able to vote with all of their heart. But change, however incremental, is change. And I struggle to take anyone seriously who says Hillary Clinton will be worse than Donald Trump. I really do.
