I was thinking about reviving evarina but we were talking about these two from drph3 and I think we went with Maxianna for this ship name 😊😊
Maxie had been right - her mom did throw a legendary Halloween party.
Cobwebs around skulls on the tables, fake spiders casting spooky shadows from the lights dancing around them in rhythm with the heavy bass line. The house was huge, unfamiliar, and under a cowl of darkness as night had fallen, apart from the glow-in-the-dark stickers and dancing lights, and the glow sticks almost everyone in the room had got hold of, leaving trails of colour in the air.
Khianna sighed, leaning against the table.
Just two more hours to go of this, and I can get out of here.
Khianna had lost Hana almost immediately when she arrived, her sister shrieking with glee and rushing into the crowd of bodies to join the dancing, But Khianna was not in the mood to dance, content instead to stand beside the punch - picking out a plastic hand that had fallen into the bowl from the edge with a grimace - and wait for her girlfriend to find her.
Maxie loved Halloween, her whole family did. But honestly, seeing her costume was the only part of this party Khianna was looking forward to -
“Boo!”
Khianna laughed, grabbing Maxie’s shoulders and pulling her round to face her. “Nice try. I'm not that easy to scare.”
Maxie grinned at her. “Are you at least enjoying the party a little? Mom made it a little less scary than she usually does!”
“You're sweet, but even Precious’ famous party won't make me more excited for Halloween, it's just not my thing. It's all Hana has been talking about for weeks though, did I tell you how long she was planning that costume?”
“No, but she told Angel and Angel told me!” Maxie took a step back, smoothing down the front of her dress, looking at Khianna through her eyelashes. “You sure you don't like Halloween just … a little bit?”
Khianna let her eyes drop to Maxie’s shoes, drifting up the beautiful costume she wore, floating blue and silver fabric in scaled patterns, the gorgeous style of her hair, draped over her shoulders, and then to her eyes again, smouldering under shimmering silver glitter.
“I could get into … some parts of Halloween, I think.”
“I think I have a part of this party I could get you into?” Maxie drew back to Khianna, and her body started to shiver with warmth.
“What part would that be?”
“My room, where else?”
Khianna licked her lips, glanced at the crowd, and then back at Maxie’s sparkling eyes.
“Let's see if it's any scarier than this part.”
Maxie leaned in, gave Khianna a peck on her lips, then grasped her hands again. “See, I knew I could get you into Halloween.”
She led the way up the stairs, the thumping music and vibrations in the floor becoming muted the further they went. A few people were up here, mostly in pairs, but they didn't notice Maxie and Khianna weave past them, too engrossed in their worlds.
Finally, Maxie tugged Khianna into the room right at the back of the house - a bedroom, the posters and decor giving it away that it was Maxie's room without the need for Maxie’s yell at Angel to get out of here.
“... and take that Kyle-lookalike with you.”
“I know!” Angel laughed, while the man she was with flushed pink, “he's his twin, right? So cute.”
“You've got your own room, bitch!”
“It's occupied, Zymba said someone was sick and she was cleaning it up!”
“And you believed her?” Maxie laughed as her sister rolled her eyes and pulled the man out behind her.
Maxie shut the door behind Angel, the light from the hallway now closed off, only the moonlight streaming through the window to illuminate them both. She turned back to Khianna, eyes smouldering, and wrapped her arms around Khianna's shoulders, drawing her deliciously close.
“God. Okay, now my sister's gone, I'm gonna help you enjoy your Halloween more.”
Khianna giggled, a giddy tingling sensation rushing down her body, hands creeping around Maxie’s waist. “I think I already am.”
She leaned towards Maxie, eyes fluttering shut -
Three heavy raps came from the other side of the door, forcing the noise and reverberation of the party back into their little world, and a familiar, if muted voice, floated through. “Ki-ki? Khianna?”
Her limbs went heavy. “Hana,” she whispered at Maxie’s frown. “We swapped your sister for mine. Why isn't she downstairs?”
But Maxie put a finger to her lips and grasped Khianna’s hand again, steering her around and into the walk-in closet, sliding the door closed behind her with a click.
They were in almost complete darkness now, Maxie resting against the wall and spluttering with laughter, but Khianna held her tightly, trying to ignore the creeping chill down her skin.
She rested her chin on Maxie's shoulder. “We won't be in here long, right?”
Maxie pulled her close into her body. “No, just a moment until Hana goes, you're gonna be fine -”
The bedroom door opened with a groan.
“Khianna? Angel said you were in here?”
“Oh, shit,” Khianna muttered, her face growing warm, burrowing into Maxie's neck. “Wish she would just go back to the party.”
But Maxie giggled. "Your wish is my command!"
She raised a hand, knocking sharply on the door of the closet.
Hana shrieked outside. “What's that?”
“I am the closet ghost!” Maxie wailed, holding back her laughter as she rattled the door. “Wooooo!”
Hana screamed again, and Khianna heard her bolt from the room, slamming the door shut as she went.
Maxie howled with laughter. “You wished for her to leave and now she has!”
Khianna's legs shook with relief. “Wish we could get away from the party, be alone.”
Maxie squeezed Khianna, kissing her cheek. “I think this is as good as we're gonna get right now.”
Khianna lifted her head from Maxie's shoulder, finding the light of her eyes.
“Maybe we should make the most of it, then.”
She closed her eyes as Maxie kissed her, relaxing and letting her pull Khianna close to the warm aura of her body. It was easy to sink into it, to seize the moment here, one she had been waiting for all evening at this party, to lose herself and forget the outside world…
“Maxie,” Khianna whispered, breaking away with a realisation that crept up on her like ivy, paralysing her limbs.
“What's wrong?”
“I -” Khianna noticed her breath turning to steam. “The party has stopped. I can't hear it.”
Maxie frowned.
Then slid the closet door open.
The bedroom was completely empty - all the posters, the desk, the mirror, the bed - had all disappeared. In the half-darkness, the room was eerie, echoing with the nervous footsteps as Maxie stepped out.
“What's going on?”
Khianna followed Maxie as she tore through the rest of the house, going through every room with a spiralling terror, plunging down the stairs to the kitchen and living room, but the whole house was empty - no furniture, no people, no sign of life.
Just a blue light, eerie and hazy in the air as if the world had been submerged in water.
