Hot Chocolate Magic ☕

with hot chocolate season on the way, there are a lot of subtle ways to work a little magic into your mug! a compiled list of easy recipes to have some magic in your day

for all recipes, melt chocolate in the microwave, and mix in heated milk.

Caramel 🍬

½ cup milk, 5 oz. chopped milk chocolate, 3 tsps caramel, ¼ cup heavy cream.  for love, kindness, domestic works

Cinnamon Spice 🍃

1 cup milk,  5 oz. chopped dark chocolate, ¼ tsp cinnamon, a pinch cayenne pepper. divination, fortune, healing, power, prosperity, protection, psychic abilities, spirituality, wealth, and wisdom.

Orange  🍊

1 cup milk,  2 oz. chopped dark chocolate, ½ tbsp sugar, ½ tbsp grated orange peel. for beauty, divination, fortune, love, purification, and wealth.

White Lavender 🌾

1 cup whole milk, ½ chopped white chocolate, ¼ tsp lavender flowers. for chastity, happiness, love, peace, protection, and purification.

Peppermint 🍬

1 cup whole milk, ½ cup chopped milk chocolate, 1 peppermint candy.  for healing, love, psychic abilities, and purification.

Pumpkin Spice 🎃 

1 cup whole milk,  1 tsp. chocolate powder, ½ tsp pumpkin spice, 1 tsp. maple syrup.  for banishment, divination, healing, prosperity, and protection

Hazelnut 🌰

1 cup whole milk, a pinch salt, 1 tsp cocoa, 2 tbsp nutella or ¼ tsp hazelnut extract.  for fertility, protection against evil, creativity, intuition, and psychic abilities

Vanilla 🌾

½ cup milk, 5 oz. chopped milk chocolate, 1 tsp vanilla extract. for happiness, love, and lust.

Peanut Butter 🌰

1 cup skim milk,  2 oz. chopped dark chocolate, ¼ cup peanut butter, add cream to taste. for wealth, love, and fortune.

Listen up Witches

I just had the best idea ever! So everyone and their familiar talks about trying to incorporate a little bit of color correspondence into your magical workings to give your magic a solid little boost. And a lot of times that’s easier said than done, especially when you’re a witch on a budget and you can’t exactly afford a whole rainbow’s worth of votive candles on the regular. So without further adieu may I introduce you to these little beauties:

That’s right my little Witchlings I’m talking about paint swatches! These bad boys come in pretty much any color imaginable and the best part is you can usually find them for free in the home project section of basically any store! True you have to pay for like the big books and stuff, but companies literally hand these guys out for free on a wall… in rainbow assortment, because it’s advertisement and it helps guarantee you’ll buy their specific version of blue.

They’re just paper too! So you can burn them, bury them, chop them into confetti for jars and sachets, or even write a sigil or intent your hoping to activate on them!

And you know what, actually? I lied about the best part. The best part is that each of these little squares aren’t just ‘some version of green for my next money spell’ they’re all named things like Apple Orchard and Pink Honesty Rose and Always Timeless. So you don’t just have colors you have names too, and names hold a power that certainly can’t hurt when it comes to inter-sectional magic, and helping weave your spells together as seamlessly on this plane as on an astral level.

12 Kitchen Witch Tips

A quartz crystal placed near the stove when cooking makes food taste better.

A pot of basil herb grown in your kitchen keeps the area safe from negative spirits.

Candles keep their shape better and burn longer when kept in the freezer.

A witch’s kitchen should never be without a lunar calendar or chart showing the phases of the moon and its movement through the wheel of the zodiac.

A full moon increases extrasensory perception and is the ideal time to prepare and use potions that increase the psychic abilities.

Love philters and aphrodisiacs should always be prepared during the waxing moon.

The best time to plant herb or vegetable gardens is when the moon  is in Cancer, Scorpio, Libra, or Pisces.

Homemade magickal incenses, sachets, and potpourris become more fragrant if aged several months before use.

Homemade incense should always be stored in tightly capped or corked jars.

Unlucky influences should be kept away when cooking or preparing magickal recipes, and this is accomplished by stirring in a clockwise direction.

An aloe vera plant should be kept on the kitchen, as its juices are an instant cure for minor kitchen burns. and the plant brings good luck.

Herbal preparations should never be boiled in aluminum vessels,  but in only copper, earthenware, or Pyrex to avoid contamination of the medicines.

Ideas for your Grimoire:

Most witches and magic workers have what’s called a Grimoire or a BOS (Book of Secrets, Book of Shadows, Book of Spells…whatever YOU want to call it.) And many beginner witches are stumped as to what they should put in it, so here’s a few ideas!

Your Grimoire is personal to YOU. You make this book your own. You don’t need to put every single bit of witchy knowledge in your book, only what you believe and will be practicing.

•Witchy history: how and when magic started, how and when your specific sect of witchcraft got started, etc

•Crystals: their names and uses

•Herbs, plants, trees: their medicinal and metaphysical properties

•Spells: ingredients, prayers, incantations, etc.

•Rituals: for Sabbats, holidays, etc

•Zodiac: characteristics and dates

•Planets/celestial bodies: their relation to magic and mythology

•Gods/goddesses/deities: their powers, how you must worship them, etc

•Animals: their spiritual powers and which animals are connected to you

•Books: writings you can use as reference when needed

•Colors: definitions of each color and what they can be used for

•Altars: how and when to set them up, what you’ll need for your altar rituals

•Recipes: especially for those who will use cooking/baking in their witchcraft

•Sigils and symbols: so you can easily reference them for your spells/rituals

•Things that are specific to you and give you power: for example, my familiars are wolves and predator birds. My flowers are tulips. My seasons/Sabbats are Autumn and Samhain. My herbs are Wormwood and garlic. My celestial body is the moon. My element is fire. Etc

Of course there is SO much more than can be put in your BOS, but this should help get you started. Remember, when using books or the internet to look up definitions, uses, spells, and so on, PLEASE cross reference. It is irresponsible to believe one source. For example, if you’re using websites to learn the uses of crystals and stones, do NOT use just one site as it may be completely inaccurate. Cross reference site 1 with site 2 and 3. It is important, for you and those around you, that your Grimoire is as accurate as possible.

I was sending my friend pictures of cookies I was baking and they told me "there's no way you can make that many! You must be a witch!" Well I've got some news for them.

WHERES THE SAUCE 

WITHOUT SAUCE THIS IS JUST CHEESE AND PEPPERONI

OKAY I MAKE THIS ALL THE TIME AND LET ME TELL YOU THAT THEY ARE THE SHIT. I also noticed that there’s no recipe here, so I’ll give you mine.

Ingredients:

Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits (it is very important that you get the Buttermilk biscuits and not the Grands, as the Grands are flaky and you do not want that for this recipe) - 3 (three) containers (That’s 30 [thirty] biscuits all together)

Package of pepperoni (you need at least 60 (sixty) pieces of pepperoni. Another side note, I use turkey pepperoni because I’m kosher, and it tastes just as good)

Package of colby jack string cheese

Italian seasoning

Grated parmesan

Garlic powder

1 (one) egg

About 1 (one) tbsp of butter (preferably off a stick of butter)

Jar of pizza or marinara sauce

Tools:

Small knife (butter knife, doesn’t matter)

Large cookie sheet

3 (three) small mixing bowls/ramekins (2 [two] must be microwave safe)

A cooking brush (like one you would use for grilling)

A whisk or fork

Instructions:

Preheat your over to 475 (Four hundred seventy five) degrees Fahrenheit.

Take a large cookie sheet and use a bit of your stick of butter to grease it up. No need to heat the butter up, just spread it around.

Take 10 (ten) of the cheese sticks, unwrap them, and then cut each into thirds. Put aside in a neat and easy to reach pile.

Take your package of pepperoni and take out 60 (sixty) pieces (no need to count them out, just grab a huge handful, and grab more if needed). Put them next to the cheese.

Open a can of biscuits and take one at a time.

Now, you load up your biscuit. Slightly (very slightly) flatten the biscuit in your hand. Grab two pieces of pepperoni and one cheese piece. Put one pepperoni on the biscuit, then the cheese, then the only piece of pepperoni - effectively sandwiching the cheese.

Take the edges of the biscuit and fold it around the pepperoni and cheese. It should encase them, and then you pinch together the seams, essentially making it into a ball. I find it helps to roll it in your hands after you sealed all the edges. Be sure to seal any breaks or tears in the dough.

Place onto cookie sheet seam side down.

Do this for all the biscuits.

The cookie sheet should have 6 (six) rows of 5 (five) biscuits on it.

Now you need to make the seasoning to put on top of the biscuits. To do this, grab 2 (two) mixing bowls, the egg, the remainder of the butter, the italian seasoning, the parmesan, the garlic powder, and the brush.

In the microwave safe bowl, break up the remainder of the butter in the small pieces and microwave it until the butter is completely melted.

While waiting for the butter to melt, in the other bowl, combine the parmesan, the italian seasoning, and the garlic powder. No set measurements, just add as much as you think will be needed to cover the biscuits. I find that having a ratio of 2 (two) parmesan to 1 (one) italian seasoning to 1 (one) garlic seasoning tastes best, but it’s all up to you. Whisk this mixture with a whisk or a fork.

Take the butter out of the microwave (careful, it’s hot), wait for it to cool a bit, and then crack an egg in the same bowl and whisk it until the butter and egg are combined.

Take the brush and brush the egg/butter mixture over all the biscuits. Give them a heavy coating, but you don’t need to use all of the mixture.

Now that the biscuits are coated, sprinkle some heavy helpings of the seasoning over the biscuits. 

Put them into the oven for 15 -17 (fifteen to seventeen) minutes, or until you see a nice browning on the top of the pizza balls. A few may burst and cheese will come out, but it’s fine.

After they’re done, take them out and allow them to cool on a counter or whatever you have.

While waiting for them to cool, grab another bowl and pour your pizza sauce or marinara in. Microwave it until hot.

Grab some pizza balls and serve with the sauce!

Trust me man, this stuff is amazing. The recipe can be modified as much as you want, but this is what I do.

How to make sigils

1- Write your sentence

Write down a positive sentence. You must formulate it like you really believe in what you’re saying and you don’t doubt it will work.

Example:

Sentences that are ok:

I will pass this test

I will not fail this test

I will be focused

I am focused

Sentences that are not ok:

I want to pass this test

I can’t fail this test

I would be focused

2- Cut out all the vowels and the double letters from your sentence

Example:

3- Now disjoin the letters

You have to separate in pieces the letters. Like: “M” is made from I , \ , / and I .

Example:

4- Create your sigil

Unite all the “slashes” you have for create a figure (like C+C can make an O) and place them in a way you like or you think it’s good. Follow your intuition!

Example:

Everyone has a different style. Mine are always quite ugly and regular, but I’ve seen really particular and good looking ones! Just follow your heart and your style.

5- What you’ll have now

In my opinion, the best way (and also the faster) is to burn it. I usually cut a piece of paper, write on it the sigil in a color I think represent properly my intent, and then I burn the piece of paper. You can collect or bury the ashes. Another way for make the sigil work is with visualization or by buring it.

Release Negativity on the Wind

This one is pretty simple, and I use it for any negative emotions/feelings. I prefer to go outside when it’s windy for this, but you can also use a fan (electric or hand-held). 

Do this outside, not in a closed off room. If you find the sound of wind or moving air a bad sensory experience, you can use earplugs or cover your ears with something.

Let the air move around you. Focus on the bad feelings, like they’re wispy fragments that surround you in a dark color and are being moved by the air. 

Imagine the wind detaching those bad feelings with every brush of movement across your skin. 

Repeat “Whisk away my ______”, inserting the appropriate words for the negativity affecting you at that time. For example: 

Whisk away my pain

Whisk away my negativity

Whisk away my anxiety

Whisk away my fear

Whisk away my anger

Repeat as many as you need, using as many words as you need. 

Picture the dark wispy fragments being unwound from you and carried away on the wind, away from you, and dissipating in the air. 

At the end, show your gratitude by saying thank you in some way. I usually whisper, “Thank you,” five times into the moving air, letting my words get carried away in the same way the negative feelings were.

Simple Beach Magic 1

Draw sigils in the sand and let the waves wash them away, charging them by both water and the destruction method at the same time

Take a shell, make a wish and toss it back into the water

Use sand to help in a grounding or shielding session

Salt and water are both common cleansing items, so go for a swim for a quick cleanse!

Untying Guilt Spell

Take a black ribbon, or cord, and tie a knot in it for what you feel guilty for. Focus on your guilty feelings, say them out loud.

Then untie the know, and throw away the string.

Wash your hands to cleanse any remaining negative energy.

The Spark's Ridiculously Easy Energy Tea Spell

So, I did a thing tonight at work. I was really tired and almost falling asleep, so I decided to make some tea and tried to do a witchy thing and it worked! Here it is:

What you need: •Your favourite tea; I used decaffeinated orange pekoe/pekoe-cut black tea mix** •Sugar and milk to taste (I use brown sugar and whole milk because I’m fancy like that) •Cinnamon for power (optional) •Vanilla for energy (optional)

**A side note about caffeine: If you are like me and have ADHD or a similar hyperactivity disorder, you may want to avoid “uppers” like caffeine or ginseng when you’re tired. Things like caffeine or ginseng will actually calm your mind and body more and will make you much sleepier or more tired than beforehand.

Instructions: •Make tea, steep to desired strength •Add milk and sugar to taste (do not stir yet!) •Add optional cinnamon and vanilla •Vigorously stir in deasil (clockwise) motion •While stirring, say, “I infuse you with energy and alertness.” •Drink and enjoy!

*This can be adapted for any kind of drink, especially coffee for those of you who are addicted to that (imo) icky black stuff. :P *Don’t have tea or coffee, but a soda instead? Try adding milk and vanilla (or coffee creamer) to make a creamed soda. :3 *Only have water? No problem! Water is a staple of life, just give it a little energy kick by stirring and saying the words. *Play around with the add-in ingredients to suit your needs! Just make sure you research thoroughly what you’re putting into your tea to make sure it’s alright for your body. Remember that something that is okay for someone else to consume may not be okay for you (like if you have allergies or certain medical conditions).
