question for fedya! what kind of management Sims you play?? you seem like a total roller-coaster tycoon kind of fella but maybe not! what are your favorites?

Fedya's ears twitch when he hears your question, and he looks a little less terrified.

M-my favorite is a game called "Dying Star." It's- Well-

He gives himself a moment to work out how he's going to describe it.

The premise is, something weird happened to the sun the characters' planet orbits. I mean, it might be aliens or evil magic or something, we don't actually know for sure... But the point is, you need to build a spaceship and stock it with stuff to get as many people off planet as possible before the sun explodes and becomes a black hole and everyone dies! And on the highest difficulty it'll explode in a week, and the materials you're working with are basically like, sticks and tinfoil.

As he's explaining all of this, Fedya becomes unrecognizable. He stops shaking, his voice drops in pitch, and his eyes are shining. You stay quiet because you don't want to break this strange, wonderful spell.

Then when the spaceship leaves orbit the goal becomes to keep the people on it alive until they make it to another planet they have a colony on. So like, you really shouldn't take too many people if you don't have enough resources to keep them alive after.

And you don't just need to keep them physically alive, you also need to keep up their spirits. A lot of new players neglect this, since it doesn't have an immediate profit... huge mistake! Cause if the population gets too hopeless they will refuse to work and just accept their doom, and then you're really screwed.

It's tough! I've put-

Well... like... I've put a lot of hours into it.

You get the sense he actually does know the exact number of hours he's put into it, but is choosing to hold back that information.

The last update really messed everything up though, just totally wrecked the ecosystem. So I've been doing other stuff while I'm waiting for the patch.

Once again it looks like something inside Fedya prevents him from telling you more. His ears droop, the spark goes out of his eyes, and he withdraws into the corner of the room.

Chau I wanted to ask how do you manage to go to school on land while being a mermaid? does the school give you proper accommodations or maybe is like simpler than what im thinking??

Châu seems a little surprised that you asked them, but they put their phone down and look directly at you when they speak, which is a good sign.

there are actually, like, a bunch of mermaids here. most of them traded the tails in for legs. i didn't want to, so the administration gave me a chair. which is nice, but like, this chair wasn't built for a mermaid. it's...

Châu shuffles in the wheelchair, and, for the first time, you notice the awkward posture its shape is forcing her into.

...not ideal.

other than that, there are pools on campus, both saltwater and freshwater. they're cool i guess. i... don't really go. mostly i hang out in my bathtub.

She looks down at her clasped hands.

and my skincare routine has a million steps now. but it's whatever.

Fedya jumps a little at being referred to and hides behind Thyme's leg. Thyme makes a surprised noise.

Oh! You don't... want to tell her about it?

You can only really see Fedya's ears, and they are twitching in what you assume is distress.

Ok, well. He just started, so I imagine there isn't a "usually" yet?

But he must have done really well on the exam to get in!

Fedya mutters something.

Oh? What did you say?

Fedya pokes his face out from behind Thyme, just a bit.

97%. I got 97, but, it wasn't actually my fault, one of the questions wasn't formulated correctly.

Wow! That's really impressive. I've heard it's a very tough subject. Have the classes been hard so far?

They're... different from how I studied before. The theory isn't much harder yet, but the environment is super different, so it's-

Stella keeps smiling, but it doesn't feel as sincere as it did a moment ago.

Her whole face scrunches up as she ponders the question, then lights up when she finds the answer.

Thyme, do you need to eat food the way humans do, or do you photosynthesize? (And if you do eat human foods, what are some of your favorites?)

Hello!

I photosynthesize. I don't have a digestive system, so I can't eat human food, and I also can't taste most of it. It's made cooking harder – kind of like painting when you can't see color, I suppose – but I've still managed to get pretty good at it! It helps to have a non-dryad friend around to taste-test.

I can drink tea though, since it's basically just leaf-flavored water! I can taste it, too, just... not in the way you probably do. Tea always puts me in a calm, happy mood. :)

(to everyone) What motivated you to join the support club?

Thyme:

I guess for me the question is what motivated me to create it?

I am secure in my ace identity now, but I wasn't always. It was a long, hard journey, a lot of pain, a lot of confusion, and I essentially had to do it alone. So I just wanted other aces who are on that journey to have a support structure and a safe space to talk about it! :)

Wow, yeah, I can't top that answer so I'm not even gonna try.

I realized I was ace very recently, and only thanks to Thyme. So when I heard they wanted to create the group, I was immediately on board. Like, hell yeah! New venture! New connections, new information, new stage of my life, and one of the coolest people I know as our fearless leader!

Aurelius, I don't know if I'd call myself a fearless leader, or "one of the coolest people"...
