i fucking stand by my statement: more people need to read three dark crowns
Three Dark Crowns as vines!
(Slight warning, there IS cursing, in case that’s not something you’re comfortable with.)
Concept for One Dark Throne; Jules realises she is way too good for Joseph and that she’s in love with Arsinoe and they have an epic love story
I just realised there is no fandom for Three Dark Crowns which sucks because this book is pretty hecking good:
Amazing world building that doesn’t rely on long winded exposition, which imo actually works? Instead of having paragraphs of the author explaining the situation and place to you, you just see it through the characters’ eyes, making it more natural.
Three well rounded female characters who the author could have put into stereotypes. I was so ready to hate Mira for being the ‘mean’, more powerful sister and sympathise most with Katherine and Arsinoe for being the weaklings and the sweet ones because that is how it goes. Instead, I ended up loving Mira just as much as the others and all were equally sympathetic. So points for cleverly constructed characters.
Very well written.
Interesting and kind of tragic plot. While there is still kind of the cliché of Mira being ~the Chosen One, the story of three sisters destined to kill each other is what drew me to it and makes their budding relationships heartbreaking
Pretty amazing twists at the end that you did not see coming but also don’t feel like they were just used for shock value and make total sense.
It isn’t perfect (really too much of the bland romances imo) but overall it’s shaping up to be a great series.
three dark crowns fandom is so tiny there’s like three of us and no content but i am determined to be here when the rest of the world discovers this amazing series

These books, you guys. These books.
Me after finishing a book and knowing the next one won’t be out for a year.
I would read books a lot faster if I didn’t have to take breaks to lose my shit
