How To Submit: Authors

Hey Authors! Today is the deadline for submitting your fanfic for the AceAroWolves Big and Micro bangs!

To submit your Big Bang work, follow this link. On the right side of the screen you should see a button that says “Post to Collection.” You can upload your story this way! Once you’ve done it, send us a message through tumblr or through our email and let us know that you have submitted. We will make a post on tumblr and tag you in it.

To submit your Micro Bang work, you can post either on tumblr or on AO3. To post on tumblr, submit your work to us here. To post on AO3, follow this link.  On the right side of the screen you should see a button that says “Post to Collection.” You can upload your story this way! Once you’ve done it, send us a message through tumblr or through our email and let us know that you have submitted. We will make a post on tumblr and tag you in it.

Podfic Rules

Hey guys, after a lot of discussion we have solidified the rules for the podfic. Many thanks to @luvtheheaven for all of your help in figuring out what is appropriate.

The rules are these (and will be added to the rules page!)

all podfics have to be beta’d 

all podfics must be a reading of the entire fic.

In the audio, you must name the original author. (I.e. saying “This is a reading of “Title” by “Author”.)

cover art is not required. If you choose to include it, there are no rules in how it looks, except that it must be your creation, not artwork from another artist. 

Also, submission guidelines for authors will be posted soon! Stay tuned :)

Hi, I'm just clarifying something. Your Rules/FAQ/Schedual say that we have to have an AO3 account (which I do) and that stories must be posted by Oct 31. Is there a collection we need to post to specifically, or what?

Do you need more artists for this big bang? What kinds of art are allowed? I might be willing to do a fanmix or a fanvid trailer but I'd strongly prefer to do podfic (audiofic) as art if I were to participate as an artist. I would kind of love to be a part of this big bang and I missed the possibility to be a writer is all, so, maybe as an artist... I just thought I'd ask-I don't have the ability to draw or create original visual art so I can't be an artist if that's the only kind of art needed.

We absolutely do need more artists for the big bang!

After discussing this question, we’ve decided to allow the following art styles, in addition to the ones listed here. 

fanmixes (requires a cover image that is at least 540 px wide and 300 px tall, and 8 songs)

fanvid (must be at least 1 minute long and a transformation of content - ie it can’t just be one scene from the show with the audio layered over with a song)

podfic (requires some kind of transformation - this can mean that you add sound effects, music, or even just multiple voices, but in some way it needs to be different than simply reading the story aloud. If you are unable to add sound effects or music, it is acceptable to do a podfic and create a cover that is at least 540 px wide and 300 px tall)

If these requests are unreasonable (which is totally possible! most of us are writers, not artists), please feel free to send us messages about this.

Edit: After further discussion, the podfic rules are not set in stone at this point. We will update as we decide on more. 

Podfics are definitely allowed as art, but we’re still ironing out what the requirements will be.

We did receive your application! it’s likely that you sent yours in after I went to bed and so I didn’t get it sent to you before now :)

I’ll be sending the remaining confirmations right now. Be on the look out for that email!

Hi! Two questions! Were the sign ups till August 31st or through it? Like, can we still sign up? And secondly, this might sound silly, but do you need to be ace/aro to sign up for the event? Like is it specifically for ace/aro creators or just anyone who wants to create something with ace/aro characters (and will of course do so in a respectful way)? Thanks!!

Hi! Yes you can still sign up today (the 31st)! And no we don’t require that creators have to be an ace/aro in order to participate.

For the Big Bang, are fusion fics allowed? (Like Teen Wolf with Deamons?) What about crossovers? (Sorry, maybe I missed it in the rules, but figured asking was the safest bet.

Yes, fusion fics are allowed as long as the main focus is Teen Wolf.
