you’re allowed to criticize content creators. you’re allowed to call out their actions. like don’t harass people (obviously), but you can think for yourself, you don’t need them to tell you how to feel.

i know to an extent, any fanbase with a large child audience isn’t going to do particularly well with this sort of thing, because children can’t seem to grasp the idea that living people aren’t always good or bad and that there’s some nuance to it.

but when dream, a grown adult man, decides to fake a speedrun for content and fame, that is a decision that HE made. it’s not a personal attack on anyone to point that out. when he decides to use a slur on a public platform, and then double down on it even after being told he shouldn’t use it, HE gets to face the repercussions. when xisumavoid builds a swastika out of blocks and then tries to justify his mistake with “it used to be a symbol of peace” HE gets to deal with the consequences.

they are adults with huge platforms. they do not need you to defend them on their behalf. if they wanted to resolve things maturely, they would.

i actually don’t like 1.18. try as i might i just can’t get used to the cramped tiny caves and huge aquifers.

underground caves are too big. deepslate is horrendous-looking and awful to mine since it can’t be instamined. every cave above-ground is claustrophobic, and i’m not usually upset by cramped spaces. and WHY the FUCK is there so much dirt? it’s a CAVE it has STONE. i understand that ore generation was changed to adjust to the terrain generation but it should NOT be this difficult to find anything.

and oh god the fucking aquifers – first off, waterlogged caves were a bad idea already but seriously who the fuck wants to spend all their time trying to mine underwater? it’s like mojang is TRYING to force you to do it but its just not a pleasant experience. and second aquifers are just a pain in the ass anyway. i don’t want to stripmine near an ocean to begin with because i’m looking for ORE, NOT for water. let alone the fact that you can’t do anything underwater without enchantments which aren’t an early-game feature so unless you know the tricks (door, shift on magma blocks) you’re going to drown and lose your shit. but oh no! you can’t just go mining for ore! you gotta have an AQUIFER despite the fact that you have no water-based enchantments and are 400 blocks away from the nearest ocean. if i wanted to go swimming i’d build an underwater base, dude.
