The World Cup is here so have my wc BAU headcanons:
Since the 2010 World Cup, the teams reunites to watch the games whenever they can - which ain’t very often. It was JJ and Rossi’s fault. Retired members are also required for the fun.
Hotch is mostly dragged by everyone to watch. He roots for the USA, but as his team is not there this year, he just picks a new team every match, analyzing every action to see who deserves to win.
JJ likes to root for small teams, the ones with no football history. She thinks new history should be made and new teams must win instead of the already winners ones. Iceland is her fave this year.
Reid doesn’t watches it, he’s just there because he’s forced to, ignoring completely the match playing on the TV, although from time to time he would try to understand something, gaving up completely after five minutes.
Derek is the Typical Critic. He discuss the game with Hotch, and claims he’s always on the side of the ones deserving to win. Sometimes, though, he would follow into Tara’s rules as well.
Tara has a very simple rule: root for the one with more black people in. Nigeria? STAN. IRAN? STAN. Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and some other countries are alright too, they’ve got blacks in.
Luke is 100% Latin America stan. Mexico is his favorite, but any other country from there is good too, but when they’re not playing, he goes to Africa or Asia, if they’re also not on the match, he doesn’t really cares for what happens.
Matt goes Asia first - mostly South Corea if he’s honest. Then Africa or Latin America, but he makes exceptions, such as Iceland or Spain.
Emily enjoys watching sports, but, just like Hotch, she’s picking new teams every match, though not by analyzing, she just desides who should win and that’s it. This year she’s mostly Uruguay, Portugal (because of Ronaldo, if she’s honest) and Croatia.
Garcia is all about the boys and butts. She roots for the team with Thor, and that other with that goalkeeper… And, of course, the ones Derek says should win, she trusts her chocolate thunder really much.
Blake is the geopolitical critic. She roots for less fortunate countries, mostly colonized ones, not caring at all for that “football history” thing. Who cares if Brazil has 5 cups and Switzerland has none? She’s also the one screaming whenever the team goes a feet inside their own half, claiming they’ll recieve a goal like this.
Rossi is boycotting the whole thing this year because Italy’s not in it.
