Cornelius just has loads of pet names for him. It's cute. Don't think about it too much.
Made for @theterrorbingo / prompt: denial
the terror + customer service slip-ups
rip franklin expedition. you all would have fared just as badly in a customer-facing job during the holiday season
The Terror characters and their coffee orders
Sir John: Just a black coffee (which he refuses to call an Americano) with three packets of Splenda
Crozier: Just a black coffee (which he grudgingly calls an Americano, which puts him in a bad mood)
Fitzjames: An espresso, because of course (but also because I want to see him drinking out of a dinky little cup with his yaoi hands). Talks everyoneās ear off about his latest trip to Italy
Le Vesconte: Also an espresso, with lots of sugar (which he learned was acceptable on his boys' trip to Italy with Fitzjames)
Little: Isn't sure what he wants. Panic orders an espresso because Fitzjames and Le Vesconte did. Doesnāt like it. Silently suffers
Irving: A decaf latte. Gets salty when someone points out that itās just coffee-flavored milk
Hodgson: Gets a maple rosemary oat milk latte thatās the "house specialty". Talks everyoneās ear off about the one time he tried an orange cold brew
Jopson: Always gets a macchiato (a real one, not the Starbucks kind), because he read in a magazine that it's "best" espresso drink according to experts. Doesn't know if he likes it or not. A strawberry shortcake frapp would change his life
Hickey: Also orders a macchiato, is flustered and offended when it is not the Starbucks drink he was expecting
Blanky: Only drinks truck stop coffee, to which he adds an ungodly amount of shelf-stable hazelnut creamer
Tozer: A cappuccino
Collins: A London fog
Goodsir: After many failed attempts, has finally admitted to himself that he doesn't like matcha. Gets a chamomile with honey
What kills me about this scene, besides the look of delirious gratitude in Jopson's eyes as he realizes he's not going to die alone (and I think he knows by now that he is going to die), is that, unlike Fitzjames and Peglar, we don't get a scene of Jopson collapsing. He's somehow still going and hauling and lifting men barely worse off than him into boats. He is holding it together with nothing but sheer force of will. This scene is basically Crozier saying, "Hey, son, I noticed that you are not OK and I am here to give you the attention and care you would never, ever ask for without making you feel like a burden or a failure". And telling him that it's okay to finally rest and be cared for. Ultimate eldest daughter fantasy. I am going to chew glass
[ID: Nine screencaps from Taskmaster, of Jason Mantzoukas sitting at a table while Alex Horne is off-screen. Jason asks, "Did you graduate college?" Alex replies, "Yeah." Jason asks, "What school?" Alex says, "Cambridge University." Jason asks, "What degree?" Alex says, "Latin and Greek." Jason says gleefully, "OK. You were like, 'Oh, whatever it is, it's gotta be obsolete. Oh, I'd love to, I'd love to go to Cambridge... and major in obsolecence.'" End ID.]
it's like damn are people like not born in the 90's anymore?
this all goes back to how sometime around the late 90s/early 2000s they stopped making people born in the 90s and switched over to making people born in the 2000s. it's not a coincidence
guys... in order to get out of the arctic we're gonna have to put on the BEST TALENT SHOW THE PACK ICE HAS EVER SEEN!!!!!!!
although i see the appeal of every single death, I'm voting fitzjames at every round because that's the only one i masturbated to
the tenderness ?? the eye contact?? the hand at the throat ?? too much liquid to swallow so a little bit gets spat out ? ugh. ah.

random moment i remembered from when @ardentanchor and i were chatting about jopson perfume headcanons (about which, if you have any to share GIMME) but when i was rereading the davechella q&a, there was that one question about what jopsonās carnivale costume would have been and dave k answered aristotle - not because of his works but because of the values quote āheās been toldā aristotle embodies (ie thoughtfulness, care, humanism)
and i had this brain moment of like wait who was telling jopson about aristotle? at first i thought crozier was the clear choice or maybe jopson was getting a lecture from franklin while checking out his library or something but then i realized there's a much more obvious answer.
it was bridgens! of course bridgens would've been the one to talk to jopson about aristotle the greeks are like his whole Thing. probly waxing on about eudaimonia and nicomachean ethics and the like. maybe bridgens thought jopson would benefit from contemplating the divine virtues and the limits of our bodily needs and wants or perhaps it was just something to infodump about while they were polishing silver (': either way how cute. steward4steward real and true forever
