remy wears a funny looking belt with her flutes attached to it, which she brandishes at every little inconvenience.
she is 3'5 (1m04). she has long dark brown hair that she usually keeps somewhat braided, decorated with charms. it's rather obvious she braids it at the beginning of the week and keeps it that way for the next days, regardless of the state of her hairstyle. as a consequence, it's a bit of a mess on the best of days.
she is sickly pale for her complexion, and her taste for everything black gives her an intimidating appearance.
she smells sweet, like a rotting fruit.
they can talk to rats without the need for a potion or a spell, though they possess the latter. they are particularly popular among that crowd, and are often considered by them as a big, ugly, graceless rat.
though her singing is absolutely delightful, she has heard a fair amount of "shut up!!!!" because she has a bad habit of singing about literally everything.... all of the time.
she was probably there when the saying "she lights up a room" was invented, and yes, it was about her.
remy is a weird little person. in appearance, she looks as surly and sullen as the rest of her kind. but it doesn't take long to realize it's nothing more than an aesthetic (the bg3 equivalent of her being into goth culture)
she's a very flirty, amorous individual. however, sadly for her, she isn't always very enticing: she has two left feet, absolutely no self-control, and she isn't exactly the brighest lampshade of the neighborhood.
to say they aren't brave would be a severe understatement. they're a full-on coward. but they're loyal, and they will find a way to help, even if they have to run away screaming first.
though she sings about her dreams of freedom and she seems to yearn for a grander life, it is also evident from her past adventures that she doesn't know what to do with herself. she isn't too sure about what it means to be separated from her community. even though she hasn't seen her family in literal centuries, and even though she hasn't been in the underdark for just as long, she's just like a rat without the rest of its mischief: unsure of her role, yearning for something more, unable to name it.
didn't feel at home in the underdark so she left with nothing but a dream
reached baldur's gate, where she had the misfortune of meeting blaiseuse (the current vampire lord of the city)
blaiseuse kidnapped remy, turned them into a vampire spawn so she could use them as their bard during her never-ending balls while the audience danced itself to death
remy served blaiseuse for close to fifty years
right before blaiseuse's death, remy found a way to play with the compulsion from blaiseuse's rules. she escaped before the bloodshed and hid in the sewers, where she set up camp.
there, she learned to talk to rats and spent a whole lot of time playing music for them
after years of hiding (or, if you listen to her retelling, gathering her strength!) she decided to go out
she started to play music in the different taverns of the city, where she didn't get as famous as she liked (read: people didn't enjoy her singing & years of only having rats for friends had made her weird)
she decided to go back home where, surely, everything would be fine!
on the road there she met auntie ethel who promised her a cure for vampirism. remy said yes. remy got kidnapped and cursed to play auntie ethel's miracles all across the coast
[centuries of servitude, same old same old]
MODERN: remy was recruited at eighteen by famous band manager blaiseuse. the band (the dancing vampyrs) skyrocketed to fame, then disappeared just as quickly after a scandal broke out and blaiseuse went to prison. now without fame and without a penny to her name, remy tries to survive making music on her own... to no resounding success.
