My blog is dead.
I wonder if anyone really thinks about me. The kind of thinking where your thoughts wrecking ball their way through the usual barriers, you’re not really aware of why you’re thinking of that person, or maybe you are, but you don’t have time to care because before you know it they’ve already filled your head. Maybe I’ve crossed someone’s mind. Maybe they reread our texts in hopes of resurrecting our past, just for a moment. Maybe they smelled something like my cologne and couldn’t stop themselves from remembering me the whole day. Could I ever take up that much time and space?
Do you ever think about me, like I think about you? // Maxwell Diawuoh, Once A Day (360/366)

the universe has existed for billions of years and by a coincidence we ended up living at the same time. that counts for something.
Anime Obama appreciation post
With election day here it feels right to bring this post back
I’ll miss anime Obama.
This scene will forever be the most important scene in any movie to me. This is a little girl who has been told all her life by her parents that she is a mistake and that she is worthless. This is a little girl whose family life is so horrible that books are her only escape. This is a little girl whose parents constantly belittle her for reading, the only pleasure in life she has. And in this scene, this little girl answers very shyly, because she has been conditioned to be embarrassed of her own existence. At first, she answers slowly, and without making eye contact. And in this scene this little girl is beginning to realize that maybe she is special. Maybe there are kind people in the world. Maybe she is worth something.
Matilda is honestly one of my favorite movies
Long commute, huh buddy

NASA artists have done it again!
They just released high-resolution digital versions of this collection of Mars Mission recruiting posters that were originally commissioned for an exhibit at Kennedy Space Center back in 2009. Now you can cover your walls with these beautiful designs and dream of your future life on the Red Planet.
From NASA’s website:
Mars Explorers Wanted: Hike the solar system’s largest canyon, Valles Marineris on Mars, where you can catch blue sunsets in the twilight, and see the two moons of Mars (Phobos and Deimos) in the night sky.
Work the Night Shift on Mars’ Moon: If you lived on Mars’ moon Phobos, you’d have an office with a view, mining for resources with Mars in the night sky. Settlers below on Mars would see Phobos rise and set not once, but twice in one day!

all these pop songs about “doing work” and “work work work” make me feel like i’m in some heavy-handed YA dystopian novel where the evil capitalist overlords keep the proletariat in line with brainwashing/propaganda in song form
