Maybe I’m an idiot, maybe I’m wasting my time..

…with the whole “Skullgirls Censorship” thing.

Usually, when I heard about games developer’s scandals, I ignore them, like with The Sinking City legal troubles.

When I learn Japanese games are “edited/censored” in minor ways when they arrive in the USA and elsewhere, I usually don’t care as long as I can play the game.

The most recent example that comes to mind is with “Yakuza 4 Remastered.” One dialogue line had been changed in the translation not to mention “r@pe.” That didn’t bother me at all.

But with Skullgirls, this is different. It’s not a Japanese game, it’s a 10-year-old game, and the appeal is its art style, the lore *and* the fan service.

Removing/censoring those contents years later for “puritan, politics and core value” doesn’t sit well with me at all. It bothers me and, for once, I want to fight for what I believe is right. I want to fight against censorship.

That’s why I posted about it on Tumblr, on Twitter and a bit on Steam. I’m more noticed here because, unlike Twitter, it seems I’m the only one that talks about it.

I’m not obsessed with it, I post/share other things in Tumblr too, but I want to keep #saveskullgirls going forward.
