I can't see dovewing disowning ivypool especially after avos it seems so funny it reminds me of I don't think you can qualify as an emotion meme

Sorry ivypool I can't talk to you anymore you trying to keep me in thunderclan by any means possible and turning your back on me when I left thunderclan is worse than my cat husband getting moonlight a cat who recently had kits killed and leafpool and him driving out skyclan because he wants to appear stronger than rowanclaw tigerheart suggesting you and tree should consider your kits as sacrifices because the dark forest will disappear if we leave them to both die there

Ivypool really suffers from you should have changed on the same page you did something wrong because people tend to forget when ivypool goes back on what they do or say

Okay but is Fernsong not following through on his promise of being a stay at den dad actually like...canon? I read Spotfur's Rebellion and yeah it didn't list him as a queen and did list Ivypool, but it also said he spent "most of his time" in the nursery. Not "most of the time he wasn't hunting or patrolling", but most of his time. To me that reads as if he was the kits' main caregiver. Meanwhile, Ivypool is described as a "loving mother" with no indication of how much time she spent with them---which feels more like how they'd describe Brackenfur or Dustpelt than a queen spending all her time in the nursery. Is there a book/novella I'm missing where it makes it seem obvious that Ivypool was still mainly caring for the kits?

Okay so ivypool had their kits in the fifth book of avos and the broken code was right after this arc not giving ivypool much screen time with their kits due to a time skip

There is only one time fernsong shows up in the nursery with ivypool in the fifth book when they were born

the rest of appearances after that were just ivypool in the nursery sixth book avos or with their kits

You mentioned spotfur novella and I loved that book because it reminds me that spotfur saved ivypool kits twice and ivypool was out in rain calling out for flipkit was cute but it's a let down that that ivypool was to be present for fernsong to be there in the nursery or get a scene in the nursery for some reason he can't be alone in the nursery also ivypool kits were close to being apprentice age so ivypool leaving them fernsong that crazy of an idea

It's just disappointing that that main selling point of fernsong character is what he's most remembered for never happened in the main line books they try to say he did something in novellas and broken code with a throw away line but that isn't enough they made it seem revolutionary that he would be the first tom the nursery only for him only show up when ivypool is present on the page

I'm so mad actually I can't believe some people took this scene in chapter 3 and turned it into a who's right about their grief when the scene in chapter 4 literally has ivypool saying I don't mean to make it all about me- haven't thought much about how dovewing is handling her own grief- people read chapter 3 and to me it seems as if chapter 4 doesn't even exist and the rest of what ivypool says in chapter three after saying this doesn't as well

“Dovewing, I’m truly sorry that Rowankit died. But losing a sickly kit—a kit you’ll be reunited with in StarClan one day—is different from losing a full-grown cat who was just coming into her own as a warrior. A cat who doesn’t exist anywhere—who is just gone.”

Ivypool and dovewing have already talked through why dovewing would not return to thunderclan during avos timeline when dovewing kits were almost paws

Like before they even meet each other twigbranch literally says ivypool misses you

I know ivypool has moments where they are cold but after hearing dovewing is not having the time of their life in shadowclan and how she misses her family and thunderclan attempts to persuade them to come back to thunderclan after suggesting they need time to adjust to dovewing ivypool even says they will since she's tigerheart mate

But dovewing is adamant on being there to help tigerheart rebuild the clan saying she loves him and won't abandon him

Ivypool tries again stating she doesn't have to leave thunderclan and that tigerheart doesn't have to be leader of shadowclan however dovewing shuts that down quickly it is his destiny after all even though she doesn't fit it with clan yet she wants to be by his side Ivypool is upset by this asking why did she come here

Dovewing desperately wants a connection to ivypool again despite being somewhat apart now

Ivypool while hesitant does not refuse dovewing that connection stating they will still be dovewing sister and believe in dovewing even though they admit they are angry dovewing left but that doesn't change anything

Both start chatting more as time passes
