be busy. busy not checking messages. busy reading those books you never started or finished. busy having a good night of sleep. busy taking care of yourself and your skin. busy moving your body. busy helping your community. busy reflecting on your life and what you can improve. busy doing things aside from the capitalistic viewpoint of âproductivity.â busy slowing down.

The way you change your immediate reactions to things is that you catch yourself having an uncharitable/bigoted/overly judgmental thought and you catch it and replace it and then you do that a hundred times a day for your whole life and eventually one day like five years later you realize that you think differently now and youâll always be working on something but thatâs how life goes and thatâs fine.
Say you have a bad habit of thinking all other people are stupider than you and want to respect other peopleâs intelligence more.
So you start paying attention to your immediate first reactions to things. You notice that when other people around you are struggling with a math problem and ask you for help you default to seeing them as annoying and stupid.
Instead of chastising yourself for having that thought, interrogate it. Replace it. Think, why do I assume people with different strengths are dumber than I am? I need help sometimes too. Iâm glad theyâre comfortable enough with me to ask me for help. Iâm glad Iâve got a reputation of being the math guy and can help people with that.
And the first time, perhaps the first few dozen times, itâll feel disingenuous. The cynicism in your brain will fight it. But in time itâll become as easy as breathing. First thought, replace thought.
And then one day you donât need to replace that thought. That might be a month from now or twenty years from now. And itâs annoying to get there. But you do get there.
non sexual intimacy!!!! bathing together, washing each other, playing with each other's hair, kissing every inch of their body, writing love letters on their back with your finger, connecting their moles and freckles to create constellations on their skin, running your hands up and down their thighs, ugh just expressing physical love without it having to be about sex!!!!
you brighten people's lives. you might not notice or they might not tell you, but there is someone who smiles when they see you. It might be someone in the street or on instagram who likes your haircut or someone who comes to visit your house always gets a little burst of joy in your soul when they think about it or the people who see your texts and their day gets a little better. You make the world brighter by being in it.
If we canât be silly and nerdy together, we canât be sexy and kinky together.
