Moving Blogs (sort of)

Hello, everyone! It's been wonderful having you all here, and getting to know some of you, and letting you get to know me. For a variety of personal reasons, I am moving over to a public blog (under my real name, with my real identity).

I'm not abandoning this one entirely yet . . . my mom doesn't know about it, so I'm holding on to it for those things that are just too private for parental eyes, and for fun, and things that I don't necessarily want people to find when they google me.

But, I like you all. And because you've been such great followers, I'm trusting you, and inviting you to come join me here at the new blog, A Kodoma Forest. If might not have quite the same content as this one, but it's still the same me, so I hope to see at least a few of you there.

THE most underrated scene in the entire movie. It was perfect. And do you know how often I see gif sets of it? This is the second one I’ve seen since the movie came out (It’s been over 5 months, now).

So let’s just pause for a moment from reblogging gifs of Tony’s sass, Loki’s sex appeal, or Bruce’s fluffiness and just appreciate this nameless, old, German guy and how, even though he knew he would probably die, he stood up to a tyrant to prove that the human race wouldn’t give up their freedom so easily.

Seeing as that took place in Germany, think that there’s no better place that that scene could have taken place in. Givin’ the time frame, he or his parents could have easily lived through WWII. They bowed to a tyrant once; Never again. Learn from your elders people- let him be an example.

Tiny Tool Chest

Robertson’s tool chest contains all the same tools that were found in the original. All the tools work, even the plane’s tote (handle) is set a scale 1/8″ to one side as the original. The saw has 160 teeth to the inch. Robinson says that the hardest tool to make was the folding rule with 5 leaf hinge. It is about .030″ thick and hand engraved on boxwood. Things like the shears and dividers also have nice little joints.

My school had this week called, “I Believe” Week and one of the days was “I believe in my story.”

People wrote on these note cards starting with “If you really knew me you would know that…”

Some of these notecards said:

“If you really knew me, you’d know that I was raped by my older brother everday.”

“If you really knew me, you’d know that my mom is a heroin addict and it’s tearing my family apart.”

“If you really knew me, you’d know that I had cancer when I was 5 and people made fun of me because I was different and didn’t have hair.”

“If you really knew me, you’d know that I was sexually harassed and abused as a child.

“If you really knew me, you’d know that I suffer from depression and I’ve attempted suicide.”

If you really knew me, you’d know that I got into a car crash with my best friend and I held her in my arms, blood everywhere. RIP.

When people came up to read these note cards, a lot of them started crying. It made many people realize that everyone has a story and that you’re not alone.

Scientist Mohamed Babu from Mysore, India captured beautiful photos of these translucent ants eating a specially colored liquid sugar. Some of the ants would even move between the food resulting in new color combinations in their stomachs. Read more over on the Daily Mail.

I have this insatiable hunger; it's a starvation, really. An endless chasm of dessert hidden under a hairline crack in my mind. If I let myself slip or fall through that crack, there are no walls to climb back up- it's like being trapped on the inside of a steep-and-slippery-walled cup. Not that there are even walls to see- there's only endless seas of this timeless wanting.

You might recognize the stuff, if you take it out of this despairing context. What is it that all that craving is looking for? Assurance. Protection against the nightmare 'could-be's that a too-sharp mind is plagued by. Walls to blot out the five million doubts. Trust, and love, and acceptance, not of the quirks, not only those simple bemusing oddities: but also the darker quandries underneath. You could say I yearn for the unconditional, the simple, the secure- things that cannot come from within. I'm dying, crying, begging to be allowed in, held close, where I can find them in you. But for now, I'm just running in my mind, and there is not horizon there for me to find. Ends don't exist; not when there was no place to start. To be more honest, you could say I'm in terror of being the last- last to come, last to go, singled out. Alone.

I'm lost at sea; forever wandering. When will you come take me home, at last?

So I had the best idea for a date. A SWEATER SHOPPING DATE.

First you get coffee. Then you go to thrift shops and buy sweaters. Then you bring the sweaters home and wash them. While they are in the washer/dryer, you make out and stuff. Then, you take the sweaters out of the dryer and you put them on and you get all cozy and eat snacks and watch movies in your cozy clean sweaters! And you kiss a lot. The end.
