Leaving / Deactivating
It's that time to say goodbye. Animal Crossing has meant a lot to me over the past year and a half, and I still hold it close to my heart. I wish I could play more, however, my busy schedule prevents me from achieving the perfect town. If I ever get Francine to leave, I think I'll be saying goodbye to ACNL forever, just because there isn't anything left I want to do. I don't dream of a perfect town, nor do I wish to unlock every single achievement - I'm not that kind of person. Maybe I'll come back to it one day and build more PWPs or create paths, but right now I'm not about that life. Unfortunately, people in this community haven't ever treated me like the others because I don't share much stuff about my town, just because it isn't what you lot want. Anon messages have been sent, saying that my town is ugly and my mayor is also ugly and the villagers I have are either too popular or too stupid (um, Flurry, Octavian and Stitches are like my top three, thank you very much). So yes, I'm finally leaving, and I'm sorry. Whether I deactivate, or just leave the blog forever, I'm not sure, but I do want to say goodbye to the people who are nice to me. - mayor-dave - I'm aware you've changed your username (giratinism? is this you?), but I'm not sure what it is. Thanks for being so kind when I was sad. - oreocrossing - you're a great person and i love you - special thanks to anyone who has taken a villager from me and tipped, given me items or villagers, or just hung around with me in random towns. If I could find the screenshots of the people who gave me their friend codes, I'd write down the usernames here. peppy-villager, little-bit-gaaaay, potterxing, mayorkarra, yonachi (still not over messing up Dotty like that), vambiergott, kamabokocrossing and tavrostrash are just a few of the people who've been nice to me, either through trades, reblogging my stuff or sending me nice messages. - mayor-killua - the first person who was ever nice to me. Left due to hate. A great Dutchie who gave me Stitches, money and kindness. My personal blog is pringlesvevo, and I'd love to see the nice people on my personal dash. I'll be logged in here for another few days, and then I'm off for good. Sorry. Much love to those who were kind, and fuck you to the fake blogs.
me: *waits until 11:00 PM to start homework*
me: ugh god are they trying to kill us?? fucking hell.... do they not understand we need to sleep?? do they think we have all the time in the world to do these stupid ass assignments?? we as students are completely overwhelmed our health is in peril this is too much
I had a really rough day and when I turned on my game to drown my sorrows, I forgot I scheduled earlier to have Teddy come over.Ā I wanted so badly to hug him and tell him all my worries.

Heartbreaking Simpsons Moments 1/ā: Bart Gets an F
I never understood why itās an F if he gets more than half out of 100? Unless itās more than 100. If you get more than half the answers right how is it an F?
You must not be from America. Here, grading is fucked up.
Average American Grading Scale: A+- 97-100 A - 94-96 A- - 90-93 B- 80-89 C- 70-79 D- 60-69 F- 59 and under
And in some places in America it goes by a 7 point scale, so itād be A - 100-93 B - 92-85 C - 84-78 D - 77-70 F - 69 and below
Now you understand why American kidās feel like thereās no point to school. If you have a 100 question text, and get 79 of them correct, thatās a C. That meanās your Average Intelligence on this particular subject. And it getās even worse when you have only like⦠a 10 question quiz. If you get two wrong? thatās a B. 80 fucking %. Now tell me again why American schoolās are easier?Ā
No wait but whats the grading system in other countries?
UK Grading Scale
100-70: A
69-60: B
59-50: C
49-40: D
Below 40: F
next time you try to tell americans that weāre stupid
iām gonna remind you
that our āaverageā is your āAā
#is that true? Yep I was shocked when I heard this in a different post but a Google search pulls up a ton of sites backing this up. Shit son I woulda passed College Algebra with an A in the UK. And I spent the end of the semester in perpetual fear that I would fail and have to retake the class.
And basically as an American youāre expected to get 80 or higher. Technically 70s are considered āaverageā but there is such a level of pressure to get a B or higher, that Cs have become equal to Ds. Basically anything under 60 you might as well gotten a 0, and anything between 60-80 is considered practically failing. So basically schools have to be designed to make sure majority of students are getting 80s or higher on specific topics, which means youāre spending all your time going over a few choice facts a billion times and there is very little room to teach anything else. Which explains why American schools are of such low quality. The insane demand on the students ends up wrecking their education. Not only do you not have time to teach them anything, but they end up hating learning. Even outside of school your life is dedicated to memorizing these few dumb facts because your homework ends up taking hours of your time. A teacher from one subject says they expect you to spend 2 hours every night on their homework. And if youāre studying 5 subjects and they all demand that 2 hours? Good fucking luck, because if you donāt have straight all 80s or higher youāre not getting into a good college and college degrees have somehow become the minimum requirement for getting jobs.
I spent most of my junior year of high school in a state of constant panic that I was going to get a C in Honors Physics much less fail the class. If I got a C on my report card, I was grounded until the next one. I lost count of the times Iād wake up at five in the morning to take the early bus to go in for zero hour before school actually started for the day
File this under the exact reason so many Americans detest going to school.
Also feel the need to pitch in another point here: those are only standard guideline marks. The UK system usually allows for grade bandings to be altered when necessary. This means that if an exam is particularly difficult, then to avoid large numbers of pupils failing the grade boundaries can be changed.
For example, this:
100-70: A
69-60: B
59-50: C
49-40: D
Below 40: F
could become this:
60-70: A
55-60: B
50-55: C
49-40: D
Below 40: F
Or sometimes itās done on percentages: the top 10% get an A, next 10% get a B, and so on. The idea is that grades arenāt intrinsically useful, they are only a means of comparing a student against the rest of their year group. Why let tons of students get a mark that could dent their confidence because of a badly set exam, when you could just adjust the grade curve and get exactly the same result, students banded in comparison to each other? Pupils compete against each other, not the system itself.
Just one of the many reasons why most UK universities donāt have standard entry requirements; the goalposts move too much.
I should also point out that you leave UK schools with qualifications in specific subjects, rather than one over-arching certificate; thereās no such thing as a GPA, and you can fail subjects without it in any way affecting your other subjects. You can get into University having failed half your school subjects, if those subjects donāt relate to the course you want to do. Since I work for the Art and Design faculty, I see this a lot: students who have failed a lot of the more academic subjects, but are fantastic at creative subjects.
