Curse - Host of the Leeching Void

Curse, or a blessing. Neither, or both.

The soul is a powerful thing, brimming with arcane energy and unlimited potential. Be careful where you send it.

It starts off noble enough. An offer is made by a shaded figure, perhaps a plan to rid the world of unworthy souls. To purge it of the murderers, the hateful, the corrupt. It will bring you up the right path, the one you wish to travel along. It will help you grow. All it takes is being a gateway, sending those souls to the void. You have no inkling as to what this void is, but it sounds fitting for such terrible beings, so you agree. A single rune etches itself into your skin, and a power unlike any you’ve felt before surges through you. It is cold, it is dark, it is.. A void. Like the sensation before your empty stomach rumbles, the silence before the first clap of thunder, the cracks in the ground, gasping before the first rain. It is emptiness. A lack of existence. You now know that this feeling, this hole, is where the doomed souls are going. You now know that they, and the everything they carry with them, will cease to exist.

One soul. Two souls. Fifteen souls. Ninety-four souls. The number climbs as your power grows, the magic granted swiftly eating away at anything which opposes you. With each unspoken milestone, another rune etches itself onto your skin, each one granting you that by now familiar surge of energy. You call it energy, but it is indescribable. It is exhilarating, even as it fills you with the sense of being on the brink of starvation. It doesn’t matter. All you can think of is filling the void. Because surely, the void can be filled. It must be filled. You begin covering your arms as the runes spread across them. Others would ask, but they wouldn’t understand. Hide it. Don’t speak of it.

That hungry void, sparked by an eerie blue light from within.. That sphere of absolute darkness, which inhales life like you do air… It is no longer an ability for the wicked, whose souls cannot be redeemed. It is for any who raises their hand against you. The more souls you shepherd to the void, the more you grow, the more you can accomplish. That’s how it’s always been. That’s how it’ll always be, until the void is filled.

And the void must be filled.

[Pathfinder] Prestige Archetype: Thought Thief (Arcane Trickster)

Prestige archetypes

These archetypes replace specific abilities of the prestige class much in the same way that archetypes do for standard classes. Each prestige archetype has unique requirements that replace the prestige class’s standard requirements. You must meet these requirements before you can take the first level of the prestige class with the associated prestige archetype.

Thought Thief (Arcane Trickster)

A thought thief will happily rip ideas from their victim’s head and their gold from their purse.

Requirements: To qualify to become a thought thief, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.

Alignment: Any nonlawful.

Skills: Disable Device 4 ranks, Escape Artist 4 ranks, Knowledge (arcana) 4 ranks.

Spells: Ability to cast mage hand and at least one psychic spell of 2nd level or higher.

Special: Sneak attack +2d6.

This alters requirements.

Mental Assault (Su): At 3rd level, once per day as a standard action, a thought thief can pinpoint a target’s trauma and exploit weakness with a deluge of psychic power. This is a melee touch attack that deals damage equal to her sneak attack damage and grants the thought thief control of the target as dominate person for a number of rounds equal to her thought thief level. A successful Will save (DC = 10 + the thought thief’s level + her Charisma modifier) negates the dominate effect. A thought thief can only use this ability against a target that is susceptible to her sneak attack, such as a target she is flanking. This attack has no effect on creatures without an intelligence score. At 7th level, a thought thief can use this ability twice per day.

This replaces impromptu sneak attack.

Unseen Compulsion: At 5th level a thought thief can hide the effects of any spell she casts with the mind-affecting and compulsion spell descriptors. Creatures that observe her casting such a spell can attempt a Sense Motive check to notice the spell (DC = 15 + the thought thief’s ranks in Bluff + the thought thief’s Charisma modifier). Creatures that fail their check are unaware of any effects of the thought thief’s spell.

This replaces tricky spells.
