The Israeli occupation army has admitted to running a Telegram channel showcasing extreme, graphic content and gore, or snuff films.

The channel was created on October 9, two days after the war began, as “The Avengers.” The next day the name was changed to “Azazel,” based on the Hebrew pronunciation of “Gaza” and a word for hell, before being changed to its current name [72 Virgins Uncensored]. One entry posted on October 11 reads: “Burning their mother … You won’t believe the video we got! You can hear the crunch of their bones. We’ll upload it right away, get ready.” Images of Palestinian captives and corpses were captioned “Exterminating the roaches … exterminating the Hamas rats. … Share this beauty.” In another instance, the following caption accompanied a video of an Israeli soldier allegedly dipping machine gun bullets in pork fat: “What a man!!!!! Lubricates bullets with lard. You won’t get your virgins.” And: “Garbage juice!!!! Another dead terrorist!! You have to watch it with the sound, you’ll die laughing.”

A city without well-maintained restrooms is a city where many of the chronically ill cannot leave their homes, and where the homeless are criminalized for bodily functions. If I had a nickel for every day I haven’t gone somewhere with friends because I didn’t know the bathroom situation, I’d have enough to put in a sock and beat a couple of billionaires to death.

American Restroom Association does a lot of good advocacy for things like this, and Project for Sanitation Justice maps out public toilets in the San Diego area. This article has a few more suggestions for places to start.

And for the people who seem convinced that leaving bathrooms open 24/7 is dangerous, you know what else is dangerous? Cholera.

for years, but especially during covid, mail people and delivery drivers didn’t have anywhere to use the restroom. we always told them they can use the restroom at our house. we had so many people stop in, even when we weren’t on their route that day, because they were absolutely desperate. we still get people sometimes but nothing compared to how it was during covid when all the restaurants and cafes were closed.

most public restrooms aren’t disabled/trans friendly. The best public restrooms I’ve ever seen were in Alaska of all places. They were mostly gender neutral family bathrooms, and there were usually 4-5 in a row so there wasn’t as much waiting. with most family bathrooms, there’s usually only one.

try as they might, and they will try, they will never successfully franchise-ify dune. there's twenty four books. there's six books. four of them are good. the four good ones are good because every plotline is attached to three separate subplots all intertwined in a delicate braid. if you remove any plotline the whole thing collapses. every character has a mirror and a counterpart and a narrative foil. dune family trees look like the back of a tapestry. the final line of the first book is about how being a concubine is good actually. dune adaptations are not supposed to be marvel movie posters filled with actors you recognise, every character should be played by some unknown little freak. the longer the series goes on the more it becomes about politics and economics. about 40% of each book is internal monologue. at its core it's space wizards versus bdsm warriors on cocaine planet and trying to deny that is rank cowardice.

I work as a programmer for $35 an hour.

They once forgot to pay me for 8 extra hours that they needed me to work on Thanksgiving weekend. They simply needed me to be present for 8 hours in order to quickly fix any problems that happened during their busiest weekend, and no such problems ended up happening.

When they saw the mistake and paid me for it, the gross pay for that day was $420 (base of $35 x 8 hours x 1.5 for overtime).

The first thing I noticed was how that compared to what I got paid at my warehouse job before I became a programmer. When I started the job at the warehouse, I got paid $10 an hour. For a full time week, I got paid $400.

I got paid more for that one day of doing practically nothing as a programmer than I did busting my ass at the warehouse for a whole week.

So enough about this "I work harder than them so I deserve more pay" bullshit. You're all the working class. In our fucked up system, hard work does not equal more pay. If you want more pay, you need to fight back against the rich assholes who profit off your labor and pay you jack shit, not fight with other people who are underpaid about who deserves to be more underpaid.
