Hi, I just wanted to warn you in case you didn't know that one of the bunnies in your last video looks pretty sick. Head tilt like that can be an indication of a number of serious conditions.
Thank you for your concern… If you read back in my blog (Edit: Didn’t realize your post was on my personal tumblr, but I have a post on my bunny tumblr about it. http://bunblr.tumblr.com ) a bit you’ll see that Phoebe developed head tilt a few years ago due to a respiratory infection. She actually developed it while under veterinary care.. we took her in the moment we noticed a tiny amount of mucus under her nose. She was already on antibiotics when the head tilt started to happen and it eventually became so severe it’s a miracle she pulled through. It was months of treatments, and many late nights staying up helping her know which way was up to get her where she is today. She functions just fine and is happy but the head tilt remains. If you watch that video you can see she’s just as boisterous as ever and gets around just fine- for being sideways.
This is very important for all of you bunny owners out there, because bunnies do not show symptoms if something is wrong. They are prey animals and it is their instinct to hide any weakness because of this. You need to be very observant of your buns and at the slightest sign of something off, take them to the vet. Buns should never have mucus, running eyes or any other sort of cold symptoms. We took her at the first sign of trouble and she still developed head tilt, I’d hate to think what would have happened if we didn’t notice something was wrong right away.
