The biggest problem in my writing schedule is that I don’t take use of available time. 

I have 15 minutes? I won’t write, because it’s not enough time to do anything substantial. 

I need to break this habit.

I teach creative writing in the summer and every morning before class the students have a few minutes while the other students filter in to just write – we’ll put prompts up but for the most part the students just work on whatever they want. generally it’s no more than ten or fifteen minutesI and yet they get so much done. Even just one page every day, from ten minute writing time adds up over time

I struggle the same way where if I have time I’m not writing bc I don’t think it’s enough time but really it doesn’t matter if you can’t get much down– you can’t edit nothing. A few paragraphs or even a few sentences is better than nothing, and next time you sit down you’ll be further along. even if you wrote something you’ll end up scrapping, it’s still something that is helping you hone your craft, understand your characters or your world or your plot

When I got my first (real) job, if I was on the tills I used to make a game of how many words/lines/ideas could I write before the next customer appeared. I’d print out a bit of receipt paper and use it to write down whatever was coming to mind at the time, as long as it was something. Often the time could be anything between two and twenty minutes, but making it into a sort of weird competition with myself actually really helped like. Right. You wrote twelve lines last time let’s beat that!  Then I’d keep all the bits of paper in my apron and take them home, or write it out on my phone during lunch. I think I wrote like six full pages of one of my WIPs one day because it was quiet xD.

Sadly my job now isn’t really compatible with that sort of game, but sometimes I do the same thing on my tube ride if the tube isn’t totally packed - like I’ll bet myself I can write x number of words between my work and home stop and then go.

Idk I’m quite a competitive person so games and contests even just with myself really help in those short spaces of time. Which I think is why i find it harder to write during long stretches of time, I need that deadline :P.

If you could gain any superpower for one day, which one would you choose and why? What would you do with it?

It’s not technically a superpower, but i would choose to be a cis guy for a day. 

Just me, but my body is the way is should be. All my memories, my interests, and the right body. 

As to what I would do with it, well

I would honestly love to just relish in the fact that oh my god i have a flat chest and oh my god my voice is as it should be and oh my god i have a strong jaw! and an adams apple! and smaller hips! 

i had a dream like this once and i nearly woke up crying

I was thinking about siblings Montparnasse and Enjolras, and they get into some kinda fight but it’s not serious and now it’s just about annoying each other and Montparnasse starts avoiding Enjolras for a bit but then Enjolras walks into his room and on one foot he has socks with sandals and the other is a crock and Montparnasse just s c r e a m s.

Hate scarves. 

Sweaters are ok but I have beef with them because they make me look rather feminine.
