KATE: Don't say roots like it's such a bad thing. 😉 Why don't we plan for lunch on one of those days. It's on me. I'm a free agent as far as that situation goes and I don't want you forgetting that you've got a friend here.

KATE: I try. If you think I'm good you should see Fiona in action. She's stood by me through thick and thin. But I'm sure that comes as no surprise to you.

RORY: Roots can be a bad thing. I've started stroking my dramatic gene enough to seriously believe that I should have gone back to Brighton for a teaching gig instead of come to NYC.So obviously I need to be brainwashed back into loving this city.

RORY: Fiona is the best person I've ever known, Kate. I know she's in the same category whenever it comes to being a sister.

KATE: I figured as much. Really, you could take that postcard idea and write the next great American novel.

KATE: You don't have to explain yourself to me, Rory. I know very well that you would never do anything to hurt Fiona.

KATE: I let her know that you probably won't be at the game. Just- come back soon? I've certainly enjoyed seeing you and Fiona could really use someone whose got her back like you do. In the meantime I'll be happy to watch over her. She is my sister, after all.

RORY: Promise you believe that? I don’t care if Marley drags my name through the goddamn mud, so long as you and Fiona know that I would never hurt her, I’m fine. That sounds utterly dramatic but I mean it.

RORY: I’ll be back probably come Monday or Tuesday. I have to start setting up my classroom regardless. Roots, remember? I’m stuck here so I best be making some better memories. But, once I am back, I think I’m going to be keeping my distance. If there’s ever a chance Fiona wants to try and get back with Marley, I think it’s been made abundantly clear I need to be out of the picture.

X: You are grade A awesome, Angel Face, anyone ever tell you that? For the most part I like the adventure of going from place to place but things get a little scary sometimes, so I think I might need a little break from that.

X: Oh I love no plan trips. Not that I've really gone on any outside the city but I like the idea of them. They're sort of romanticized in my head I think. Are you also itching for some seafood because I hear that's kind of a thing there. I hope you go on a boat. Eat lobster on a boat!

RORY: I am in desperate need of hearing some positives right now, so thank you for that. I will be happy to have some company around my apartment though, so please, stay as long as you would like.

RORY: If I had known you were such a fan, I would have invited you along! I will keep that in mind for the next big adventure I partake in! But you got it, captain! Lobster on a boat... sounds like one of those weird rap songs, but I'll do it just for you!
