the students of xavier’s can be so thoughtless, so oblivious. they leave their things in random places, belongings of all kinds and shapes. ones that mean a lot, some that don’t—and as sungkyu makes his way towards the classrooms, he’s staring down at the notebook with little interest, eyes scanning over the doodles and writings scribbled all over it. it looks like a girl’s notebook, with the gross amount of hearts drawn onto the cover and the pretty and neat handwriting. opening the notebook showcases notes upon notes of classroom sungkyu is sure she’ll be upset in losing.
“kids these days.” he mumbles, raking a hand through his hair as he flickers through the pages, head looking up to view the classroom he gets closer to. he blinks at it and looks back down at the notebook, one hand extended to open the door for him to enter. it moves easily, quickly, and his feet are stepping inside as his head lifts, small smile on his face in a polite manner for greeting, but he pauses once his whole body is inside, eyebrow furrowing as his mouth opens, hearing the door begin to fall shut behind him. he glances back at the door, only to note that there isn’t a doorknob on it, which gives him a little bit of confusion. the second thing he notes is that it looks like halloween threw up in there, and that the darkened parts of the classroom leave little to the imagination.
what a gaudy, awful thing.
he notes the girl at the corner, cocking his head to the side as he lifts his hand up, waving the book around as he moves to address her.
“yah, did you do this?” he gestures to the decorations, the little things made to make the room look frightening. another joke for the masses today, and god is sungkyu sick of them. “you sure have a lot of time on your hands. don’t you have something better to be doing, in a dark classroom like this, kid?”
she did not squeak. firstly, eunwoo does not do squeaking— that was reserved for people who were afraid, which eunwoo certainly was not. secondly, a squeak would imply that it was high-pitched and everyone knows eunwoo’s high notes were questionable, at best. so, if she did make any sound, it most definitely was not a squeak.
but, immediately after she let out that sound-that-did-not-come-from-her-throat, she found herself yelling out in trepidation: “wait no, the door!” but, by then, it was too late and the door had slammed shut, and she found herself closing her eyes, sending a quick prayer to the skies. intuitively, eunwoo knew that shouting at a staff wasn’t the smartest thing to do, under duress or not, but she found herself saying out the words exasperatedly anyway. “you really shouldn’t have let that door go.” it sounded a lot more accusatory than she had planned, but eunwoo was tired (mostly afraid, but tired too) and her only thought was to get the hell out of there. even if she was the guiltier one, holding the doorknob in her hand, after yanking it off in nervousness.
“does it look like i’ll do this? i mean, if i was the one in-charge, i most certainly would have exited out of here in two seconds— maybe three seconds, if i failed to plan properly,” eunwoo began rattling off, her words tripping and her eyes twitching, voice rising in pitch impressively. “see, i excel in classy pranks, nurse,” she continued, chin jutting out as she feigned confidence. “this is a whole level below me, okay,” she said, as though she had not draped a bed-sheet around her earlier in the day.
“and it’s your fault anyway, for letting the door go.”
