Already know I wanna send this to people on June 1
Audio:
Erika, referencing ebenezer scrooge: You, boy! What day is it?!
Brennan, as a young boy: It's Pride, bitch!
I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.
He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense
Y'know I'm so glad someone reminded me of this. Because this was also discussed.
My stepmother did NOT like the way her Libertarian Viking Neighbor framed pregnancy as the fetus "attacking the woman". She incredulously told him this was extremely disrespectful to expectant mothers to portray pregnancy as so violent and negative.
Libertarian Viking Neighbor's response was that people consensually hurt each other all the time, and "there's like a whole community about that, with the acronym the one that starts with a B" And his reasoning was that if the mother was consenting to bring attacked by the baby, it in fact wasn't violent and negative because there was consent.
He brought up people consensually hurting each other, didn't go for one of the obvious answers like boxing or body mods or something, no he went STRAIGHT TO BDSM and he DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE ACRONYM
got a little bit bored and did this
I truly believe shane is exactly one mic'd up game away from losing that golden boy status. he is vicious. utilizing that idodetic memory for evil. every chirp is highly personalized and succinct. he's giving these men insecurities they didn't know existed before he opened his mouth. forget the weak backhand. he's referencing the fact your team has been trying to force trade you for the better part of three seasons and how your commitment to being the worst player in the western conference is perhaps the only thing you don't have issues committing to.

this is literally the only funny thing i have ever seen in my life, which includes a summa cum laude BA in the history of art
“FMA is bad because it portrays war criminals as sympathetic, likable people” bro that’s the point. That’s the whole point. That is THE point. Did you think Ethnic Cleanser is some kind of special category of person that gets separated away from all the Good People at birth? Did you think there’s some kind of barn full of Genocide Doers that only gets deployed into the general public during world wars? Did you think assholes who do terrible shit in real life are never charming or likable or capable of doing good things and helping people? One of the best parts of FMA is how we the audience realize that some of our core protags have made irredeemable choices, and we have to reckon with the fact that they’re still people, with the unalienable rights and qualities thereof. Sorry if the Problematics aren’t constantly wearing a dunce cap and a list of all their crimes and this makes the media incomprehensible to you

damn
if only FMA would have had a character hunting and disposing of any person associated with a certain system bc he considered them all irredeemably evil regardless of who they were and whether they were guilty of the crimes he punished them for, only to realise that none of these actions were actually helping his community and the evil commited was bigger than individual ppl. so he targetted the true cancer at the certain of it all and started collaborating with the ppl he would have once killed bc he understood that these ppl were aware of the weight of their crimes/the crimes of the system and were determined to make the world a better place and give reparations to his community
oh wait–
@modmad
supremely happy to be associated with this
The thing about Miss Piggy is that she kind of has a Roger Rabbit comedy superpower where she wins nearly any conceivable fight she's in. But unlike other characters of which that's true, like say, Bugs Bunny, who tend to win because they make the opponent play the game with their rules, Miss Piggy wins because the joke is that she can beat the shit out of literally anybody.

You forgot to add the best thing about it
Barbarian Ross
Man's about to turn you into the scene of a happy little accident.
reading Anne of Green Gables for the first time is so funny bc Anne is primarily a sweet, eager, earnest, dramatic, imaginative child who’s taking the world with open arms and loving life, and also she’s trying to explode Gilbert Blythe with her mind

HE FOUND TUMBLR??????
I’ve been here the whole time.
Dear god, he's not kidding...
admittedly i know little of the subject but one would think, at 45 years of age, he would be a ryan goose by now
saw a post letting people know that your ao3 bookmarks are viewable on your account unless you make them private, which suggests that the median ao3 user does not use ao3 in what i will call 'the optimum fic-finding treadmill' where you find a fic author you like and look through their bookmarks to find more fics that are good and then look through that author's bookmarks for even more good fics. like a conga line of great but extremely specific tastes. or one of those chessboard rice doubling analogies and oh no that is a LOT of ao3 tabs.
I feel like a lot of people engaging in torture are not treating their victims as if they could have blood borne pathogens 🤔
Is what my wife said apropo of nothing as we were silently drifting off to sleep
Uh oh
Is what she said when I immediately reached for my phone and opened Tumblr instead of responding
@everything-you-feel-is-real I know by tumblr tradition that I'm to say "impossible, my posts never blow up like that," or "please don't do this to me."
But I feel in my bones that you are right. If this is to be my wife's moment of glory, I am willing to suffer notification overload, that the world may know she is funny. #MyFunnyWife
