You know what really pisses me off? People who sealion and say “oh you shouldn’t care about animal issues when there are people suffering in the world”

Hey, you’re right, there are people suffering in the world, and as a poor, disabled, chronically ill person, I’m one of them. Does that mean all I can care about are my own hardships and issues? That by you, a total stranger, telling me I can’t care about animals, I’m just suddenly… not going to care about animals anymore?

But what really pisses me off is people who say that, don’t actually want vegans to care about people. They just want us to shut up. People can and do care about more than one thing, otherwise we would be allowed to have only one hobby. After all, according to non-vegans, we can only focus on one thing at a time, right?

So yeah. Don’t tell vegans to care more about animals than people. Because chances are, we care more about people, animals, and the environment than you do. We’ve done the research and looked at the difficult facts of all the ways animal agriculture harms people, especially poor neighborhoods and communities of color.

Just stop pretending you care about people, and acknowledge you don’t want to think about the animals.

I don’t know how people aren’t more appalled by this. This is literal proof that the rich could solve the majority of the world’s problems if they WANTED. I guess some old ass church built by the world’s largest pedophile ring is more important than human lives. Not to mention that indigenous people around the world have had to stand by and watch their own sacred places destroyed ON PURPOSE and nobody bats a fucking eye. Don’t get me started on the water crisis in Flint. Yeah, Flint still DOESNT HAVE WATER but sure, Apple is going to donate fucking money for a church that’s burned multiple times. Like, I get it, it’s a religious and cultural symbol. But so is Al-Aqsa masjid (third holiest masjids in Islam) and the three black churches in Louisiana. Where is the out pour those churches? Where is the “omg this is the worst thing ever. Our history as humanity is threatened” when the 45th signed off on selling protected land? Where was fucking Apple to help then?!
