What Actually Matters
Am I the only one completely annoyed by these "X Things You Should Do In Your 30s" or "10 Things 40 Year Olds Lament They Didn't Do In Their 30s" Buzzfeed-style slideshows? According to them, I'm a pretty miserable lost cause. Saving $361 a month toward retirement? ROFL Here's a revised list for those of you in your mid 30s concerned you've already missed the boat by not having the 2.5 kids and white picket fence with life insurance and massive savings account (again ROFL).. according to what really matters: 1. Follow your dreams. Always. Always. Did I mention always? 2. NEVER COMPARE YOUR OWN PATH TO OTHER PEOPLES' PATH. Just don't. 3. Money is money. It will always be there, it will always not be there. Worrying about it every living second will only make you age even faster. 4. If you like what you see in the mirror, nothing else matters. So there. /ends rant
