less literal than it maybe should be, but there was a bunch of stuff I wanted to try to get in there, and eventually I just had to call it done. :U (...for now) (we'll see how it goes)

anyway I'm continuing to enjoy this RSA time! they really are on a totally different plane of emotional existence than we're used to from these guys, aren't they.

mmm this one is alright i think. i needed a way to get out of art block and is there any better way to do that then smallidarity?

i always liked the idea of mezalean joel getting his hair braided when he was younger, and when he met the codfather with his perfect long hair he couldn’t resist the moment they got some time alone.

for this one i messed around with some colour jittering and i do think it makes things look a lot more visually interesting, but you have to be really careful with how you mark make and how large your brush is, because it makes a huge difference on whether you colour in lines or circles, or if your brush is wider or thinner. and i couldn’t use my goat the bucket tool so i was utterly screwed. the timelapse is always one of my favourite parts of finishing something but i actually can’t bring myself to watch this one because it is literally just me colouring in tiny tiny circles. it’s probably a good five minutes of me just looping round and round with a size 7 brush.

i think the background on this one is pretty buns too, but i like the idea of making it almost look like a conversation going on, i just don’t think i could figure out how to properly execute it well. that being said here’s an alt version without the background

i will say though i do like the shading on this one, and how you can see the coloured gradient in it. i think you can tell really clearly on the tail of jimmy’s plait how it goes from a green to a pink. and i enjoyed messing round with those little flyways, joel’s swirly thing and jim’s bangs too on the hair.

my friend told me the other day when i posted i analysed my own art and it was weird (not really but they prolly meant it like that). and i want them to know as i write this i think of you. and i will continue to write paragraphs and paragraphs analysing my own art. haha
