Shahi Tukda Shahi = Royal (Persian) and Tukda = Piece (Urdu). Balai ka Tukda (a half inch thick roundel created by delicately layering clotted cream {Malai} and deep frying it to the colour of burnished gold, ensuring the inside remains soft) this was the origin of Shahi Tukda which came from the royal kitchen of Awadh in the 16th century. Shahi Tudka is a traditional royal Mughlai sweet dish significantly made by deep frying the bread slices and then soaking it in saffron flavoured sugar syrup made with milk.Topping it with lustrous Rabdi.
