“–what kind of goodies? I’m prepared to be grateful if they’re good.”
“Vintage Scotch and fresh Colombian coffee.” Instead of a bonus, his boss gave him gifts. It wasn’t the most ideal exchange, but sharing them would be fun.

“Probably not. But it was there, and I was there. It happened.” Feuilly shrugged, wincing at the throb as he moved his arm. “I mean, beheading is usually a good way to do it.”
Joly sighed, pinching both sides of the wound together and starting to make sutures without warning. He generally found that by warning the patient all you did was create tension. “Yes, it certainly worked for la Comité de Salut Publique,” he snarked.
Feuilly yelped softly as the wound was stitched up, but it lowered to a hiss as Joly worked. “Probably not something a union would allow though.” He added weakly.
“I brought goodies! Sit your ass down and prepare to be grateful.”

See, it would be a great surprise for Feuilly, Enjolras knows, but what he doesn’t know is the other’s coffee order at this specific coffeeshop, and he doesn’t want to fuck it up. Enjolras is a good person and cares about his friends’ coffee preferences.
Feuilly would be happy with any type of coffee, but he prefers black with one sugar. Caffeine is very important for a working man, and these quiet moments of drawing are as precious to him as stimulants.
xcharmingbutterrible replied to your post:Feuilly is just doodling in a notebook, and not...
Enjolras stops gesturing, and lets out a huff of air. If Feuilly wants a cup of coffee, Enjolras will get up and get him one for sure- he would have just preferred the expediency of knowing while he was actually in line.
Feuilly would definitely appreciate a cup of coffee, especially because it’s going to be a surprise.
Feuilly is just doodling in a notebook, and not completely paying attention to his surroundings, which would technically include the person trying to get his attention, whoops.

“Well, anyway the saw should not have been in a place where you could trip onto it,” Joly said, pouring out the water and using a towel to take the needle and thread out of the water. “Do they want to weed out the inexperienced by beheading them? Just wait for this to cool.”
“Probably not. But it was there, and I was there. It happened.” Feuilly shrugged, wincing at the throb as he moved his arm. “I mean, beheading is usually a good way to do it.”
I am sleep, goodnight
I either eat too much or starve myself. Sleep for 14 hours or have insomniac nights. Fall in love very hard or hate passionately. I don’t know what grey is. I never did.

Joly laughed. “I’ll go easy on you when you go easy on yourself, tigre,” he said, dropping the needle and a length of thread into the boiling water. “Wait, like, a couple minutes for this to sterilize. Are you part of a union? Surely they’d have something to say about this, you can’t go around getting sawed in the arm and not have your workplace do anything about it.”
Feuilly laughed, trying to distract himself from the steady throb in his arm. “I haven’t ever been part of a union, and I’ve been working since I was old enough to lie about my age. Worker’s comp isn’t something in my future.” Union jobs were something he’d tried for, but needed some more time before he could get one. “It was my fault anyway. Tripped while I was juggling too much stuff. Rookie move.”
“You’re going to have to do some of the grunt work,” Joly said, pulling a needle and thread out of one of his kitchen drawers and setting a pot of water on to boil. “It doesn’t look… well, it doesn’t look deadly. You should be fine, I think. Can you unwrap the bandage?”
Feuilly winced, but went to work unwrapping the makeshift bandage. “It’s not the worst thing I’ve had in my life. Go easy on me anyway, though, okay doc?”
By Benjamin Dewey
“Hypothetically, it wouldn’t exactly be easy,” Joly said, wincing and flexing his fingers. His arthritis wasn’t exactly being his best friend today. “But for you, my friend, I would move the stars. How big a gash is it?“
Dropping the hypothetical situation and pulling his sleeve up. There’s a tightly wound bandage around a red mark. “I got caught on one of those round table saws. It’s not deep enough that I can put my finger in it, but deep enough that I wanted to ask.” He just can’t afford an E.R. visit right now.
