We're always talking about the obvious gay yearning in The Urge but what if I said that The Hand is also a metaphor for dnp's relationship?
No one asked, but I'm going to explain anyway. The hand is a secret that only he and Dan know about. Phil is terrified that there will be serious consequences if other people find out about it, so he goes to great lengths to conceal it. Dan and Phil try to go about their regular lives and ignore the hand, but it keeps growing larger. Eventually the hand grows so large that it destroys Phil, leaving Dan alone with his rage at the thing that tore them apart.
so a long time ago I wrote like half of a Yuri on Ice adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. I have some energy to write more of it, but am not sure anyone wants to read the end.

Good news is I have been rereading victuuri fic I was talking about the other day.
Better news is it inspired me to write 4000 words and finish a whole chapter of my old 'Romeo and Juliet but with the characters from Yuri on ice' fic. The swordfight scene has been stuck in my head for ages and reading all the duel training scenes brought it roaring back.

Is not a direct translation.
It’s not wrong, I wouldn’t say - it’s just a different interpretation.
But the literal meaning is quite a bit darker.
Victor says 「自分の首を締める枷でもあった。」
“It also was a shackle closed around my neck.”
Like I said, the translation is not exactly wrong, but the original words make it clear that it made Victor feel like a prisoner, bound to his career/decisions against his will. You could even say that he felt like he was suffocating.
